Fwiw: 12 or 13 years ago the major gas station brands agreed there was no basis for having the signs up but there was insufficient evidence to support not putting the signs up. So the signs went up..

What. The. Fuck. Was almost at the school this morning and saw the red swingy out stop signs appear as I came down the hill. There were kids about to cross. However the car in front of me must have decided that the 2 giant STOP signs were just road decoration and proceeded to plough through them smashing their wing mirror on one of the stop signs as they went. Did they stop to find out what they had done and to make sure everyone was ok? No, they fucked straight off. WTF is wrong with people
