Went to see "Eye in the Sky" on Friday night starring Helen Mirren and the late Alan Rickman. Didn't know what to expect - simply went along as they are both great actors. Despite it being about a drone surveillance against terrorists and how it develops, it's not an action movie. However, the interplay between the characters and the politics of the situation made it one of the best movies I'd seen in years. Rickman's portrayal of a UK General was incredible.

Axkzel has auditioned for the C grade NZ movie Ramboy 'First Mud'... turns out it is an all male cast filmed in the bush not a sheep in sight.

    i am legend

revisited this one. You really have to forget you've seen it before.

Mildly irrelevant opneing scene, infact, irrelevant and poorly executed cgi animals through. and where the fuck did the lions come from?
    And fuel? power?. Muh.

Otherwise, a solid performace from bill and a script that mostly allows it. neat creature, weak enough ending that invites a sequel (127 weeks later style) probably best left at watch-once. 7.5/10

    hellbenders

odd clash of genres, funny bits but not delivered as though they're expecting lulz.
Had potential if they'd let either genre loose but was just weird, really.
    5/10

You really need to read the book. The film is loosely related crap in comparison.

    oculus.

    Stunning. Spine tingly spook flick.
    Beautifully cuts time.
All three gingas played their tits off.
    The men, just as well.
Dad was a brilliant heeeeeeerrrees johnny. The lads were really just supporting roles, but well done.
Ghosties a bit ~muh, but i cant think a better way they could have been done.
Soundtrack was a let down - orchestral and atmospheric, very classic, but a bit dissapointing.
Apparently the budget was 5mil?? Not a lot by comparison and for what it delivers.... Whoar!

    We're 9/10

i would say parody, but that implies some kind of witty knockoff, this is just a knockoff.
No redeeming features. Waste of time. 2/10

the curious case of benjamin button

a plot! A plot! My kingdom for a plot!
You would think, at 3 hours long, someone might have snuck some plot in. I hung in to the end to find that they did not.
    A disjointed irrelevant biographic

Story. And nothing more than a story (and one i would probably read quicker than it took to watch,) where's the MOVIE, ffs.

Well performed, to be sure, some excellent scenes, to be sure.
The age-backwards premise got fucked up. (starts and ends as a baby... Wtf)
i really, cant see why anyone would watch it.
No fucks given about any of it, and i resent my time being so abused.

3 blowies and bumsex, if your significant other suggests you watch it.
To rate? 4/10. less than average.

    the last boyscout.

    Brucewillisman doing what brucewillisman does.

That should pretty much tell you what you need to know.

    7.5/10

    gangs of new york

revisited it because i remember it being spectacular.
Hunfortunately the gpu on my laptop has shit itself so i watch the cpu render non-native 1024x768.
    For shame.
(one of you tech cunts should donate me a laptop)

anyway, leo has always been a pretty weak actor, this is no exception. Even weaker attempt at an accent.
The movie... Long, not very driven, just mumbles along with a few scraps and stabbings for punctuation. Excellent period cast and costume, and baddie mcmoustache was great, but really, what IS the point.
    6.5/10

    the worlds end

good on the whole. For what it is.
Funny, but hardly laugh a minute.
The last scene was irrelevant, not a good way to end a movie, that shits what people remember.

    bounty killer.

The first 5 minutes will tell you if it's yeah or nah for you. The remainder gets no less stupid.
    But it's a watchable stupid.
Only ever cleavage, but it's nummy cleavage.

Fairly comparable to mad max 3, with less vehicular homicide and a fucking bootfull more blood packs (probably cgi, now, but lots of splat).
+ a lead hottie that doesnt look stupid weilding a firearm.
For what it is 9/10, as a movie, 7.

    Jewtopia

0:35. Seems to be about my tolerance to pretend to give a fuck.
Supposed comedy, taking the piss out of the Jewish, but in a very Jewish way.
Which means that there were three giggles and exactly fuckall else for my half hour.
At a rate of 1 lol every 10 minutes, and exactly fuckall else, i decided against pursuing it. 1/10

Hateful 8, Tarantino classic. profuse use of the N word and the term crackerjack lol... 10/10 You kno its good when it doesn't feel as long as the three hours it is.

Hit and Run action/comedy. Some good jokes but let down by b grade actors.... watchable just

    Glengarry Glen Ross.

Pushy salesmen version of Reservoir Dogs? I don't know. Don't understood the point of the movie much.
