Is there such thing as an expert's guide to runners?

Only if you count those of us who have tried it as "experts" ...

Having read through this thread, I find this post ^ seems pretty close to summing up the deal..

Bad-as bikers gonna do what they're gonna do, FTW.. & get away with the consequences, or not..
For me, ( on a bike) it always has been an option, sometimes taken, & never yet regretted, unlike stopping.. to eat the shit..

Apparently if you're 'suicidal' running can work:

I got excited when I saw that, I'd read it as 214mph. Was very underwhelmed when I realised my mistake. OK the dude was speeding, but suicidal?

A week ago, after 9.00PM, I was stopped at a check point and breath tested, no problem. The next day the weather was brilliant so I sallied forth to Mokau at speed, on the basis that the cops would all be having the day off. Near enough - a great day, a nice ride, and no anywhere to be seen.

Hell, don't even bother running, its easy as fuck to get away with anything up to murder on our roads.
Like this rich chick from ChCh, you just need to grab a good lawyer $$$ and claim that you suddenly realized you have Profound Dissociative Spectrum Disorder! ...of course it wasn't bad enough to stop a NZ driver license from being issued, but its good enough to get you off killing an innocent road user, due to blatant careless driving and not paying attention to the road.

...Sorry, it was my PDSD your honor

(after the latest road toll...makes ya wonder if the fuckin genius's have figured out that maybe its time we started to TEACH people how to drive...instead of just a basic test and learn the rest as ya go!...but we WILL of course still hold you to standards that you have never actually been taught!!...cos PROFIT!! comes first, NOT actual road safety!)

This is where the system needs to be on to it. Ok, you have a medical condition (as testified in court, complete with expert witnesses) that means you are unable to drive until it has been cured or under management and we'll need a suitable medical certificate at that point.

But no... we'll find you not guilty due to a medical condition, but you can keep driving and it could easily happen again

you can't deny her her licence, that would be taking away her civil rights, once you have broken the law you suddenly have three times more civil rights than anyone else. Or so it seems anyway

Just goes to show how completely out of touch the police are:

Other road users expected everyone to adhere to the speed limit
Considering that most are above it, I doubt this very much.

there was no hope for anyone if they collided head-on at that speed.
I know of one rider in a head on at 230kph came out with only two broken thigh bones.

And I know of one rider that fell off his bike going around a 40kph corner and died. So there.

Which only goes to prove my point. The actual speed often has little to do with the outcome.
