48.1% of the dumbed down, permanently stoned, paranoid, gullible, OR just feel that getting pissed & fucked in Greece or Spain are the most important issues for them and their country; so they voted to stay.

I started this thread asking for reasons to vote to stay. I didn't get any, just innane ramble and prophecy. I can think of some good reasons myself, but they didn't seem strong enough. I was hoping some on here might have been able to offer some better arguments to persuade me.

What makes me laugh is that immigration was low down on the list of my issues to consider. I always believed that if it became a big enough problem, the rules could be changed appropriately. But look how the idiot NZ media has made that the primary focus and somehow realated it to NZ immigration, which it is not even remotely similar to. Most immigrants in to NZ have to qualify to get here and inject large amounts of foreign cash in to the economy. The country wants and needs them. The vast majority of immigrants in to the UK are paracites and suck out of the economy, for their personal gain.

In my view, the people of NZ in to the UK and the vote would have been 70/30 to leave.
At the moment anyone from the UK can move to any country in Europe, register, put their kids in a local school get a job seekers allowance live and work on equal footing with people who were born there.

At the moment I can order anything from the UK without it having to go through customs. I very rarely order anything from outside the EU as I have to pay an unknown duty amount and it can take weeks to clear customs.

Both of these situations will change when the UK finally exits.

I don't think the UK will save any money and I don't think they will be allowed to pick and choose which EU countries are allowed freedom of movement into the UK.

The worst part is the UK now don't have any say in which countries can join the EU.

They need to focus on non-EU agreements and force the EU beg the the UK to continue to do business with them.

Hire Donald Trump, he'll do the deals for them
Probably not, but it might still be a reality. Immigration from within the EU was a problem ten years ago anyway let alone now. In my.mind the damage is done anyway.

It's early days but from what I can gather from the ewes stance so far is that if the UK wants freedom of travel for its own citizens within the EU, it's going to have to give the same. Time will tell.

All this fuss about fuck all. Nothing has changed, and it's quite possible that nothing will. Until Britain officially informs the EU that it's leaving nothing changes. The Poms don't even know yet how to invoke Article 50 which is the mechanism used. The Queen has the authority but won't use it of course. The lawyers will argue about whether Cabinet can do it, or if it needs an act of parliament. Meantime nothing changes.

Cameron said he would invoke article 50 immediately. He didn't, he put it off until Autumn. If they ever announce that the referendum is being shelved it will probably be during a spell of crap weather in winter. Less temptation for people to take to the streets in protest then.

Alternatively, in about five years people will wonder, "What referendum?"

When the shit thickens, it doesn't take long for the 'Leaders' to start jumping ship. Sorting out the mess obviously goes into the too hard basket. Not many Churchill's amongst this lot.

These people protesting the result are morons of the highest level, much like Voltaire and Husaberg.

simple question, why did the Soviets modify a air-raid shelter into a gas chamber? what was their intention?

Nice to be thought of so early in the day, now pop your high vis vest on and off to work with you.

The rats are Mr Cameron, he is the Prime Minister, Mr Johnson, he wanted to be Prime Minister and thought this was an easy way to do it but it sort of backfired and his besty Mr Gove also wanted to be Prime Minister, now all the Tory cabinet want to be PM and so far no one has a plan.
Mr Farage who is not even a UK MP thought he would piss off his old boss the EU.

That probably what the rest of your former countrymen are thinking now

A: Quick, ring up the Commonwealth countries and say " we're back"

B: Tell all the immigrants " pack your bags'

Certainly the most interesting Brit politics has been since Thatcher times.

S'ok... all is saved. Chancellor's Tax Plan To Cushion Brexit Blow

The place is a basket case. Has been for decades. No two ways about it. You'll see it for yourselves soon enough

A united Europe is only useful when it is perceived that Europe is going to, and will, do well.

Aye... it'll be interesting to see who assumes the throne.

Portugal....my lasting memory from my 04 round Europe in a 1971 VW Camper trip is the chicken sandwich I had in Lisbon resulting in being sick in campground with temps of 40+ for 5 days and having said VW broken into and my Sandeman Port nicked that I got in Porto ( which is a nice place).
Only other place I was broken into was in Bilbao Spain visiting the Guggenheim, fortunately I was semi prepared with a 105mm Ammo box bolted to the floor with padlocks on it.
For a Sunny spot I'd go for Greece

Nothing to say you cant own property and not be a resident in Europe. Spain will give you residency if you spend over €500K on a place and your not an EU resident. The longer your in their country the more money you can spend. I have a friend who has just taken up retirement residency in Portugal - they gave him a good deal on taxes on his investments - better than Spain.
