    ...and so it begins.

If the US did go to war with China, the first thing I would notice at work for is none of the computer systems would work as they are all based in China on that sticky out bit in the South China Sea.
Maybe they should rename it the North Philippines Sea of the East Vietnamese Sea.... as the name suggests ownership
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Maybe once a week a penguin crosses the road. Other than that it's just the country's longest pit-lane penalty drive-through.

So what has it got to do with America? - Why don't they just MTOB for a change? - Leave it to the dis-United Nations to sort out!
America and the Philippines signed a treaty where they would provide some protection.

The United Nations Security Council "power of veto" refers to the veto power wielded solely by the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, and United States), enabling them to prevent the adoption of any "substantive" resolution, as well as decide which issues fall under "substantive" title.

Because of the use or threat of the veto, the Security Council could at best have a limited role in certain wars and interventions in which its Permanent Members were involved – for example in Algeria (1954–62); Suez (1956), Hungary (1956), Vietnam (1946–75), the Sino-Vietnamese war (1979), Afghanistan (1979–88), Panama (1989), Iraq (2003), and Georgia (2008)[

It didn't help with the West Philippine Sea.

Part of the problem of course is that China is not a member of the UN.

This has been going on now since before I moved here over four years ago, but has escalated in the last year.

It's getting to the stage now that the Chinese warships are chasing Filipino fishermen from their traditional fishing grounds. The Spratleys have always been claimed by the Philippines and are in the West Philippine sea, NOT the South China sea, as claimed by China. They are a lot closer to the Philippines than they are to China.

I see this as invasion by stealth.
