So the Aotea on-ramp onto SH1 has been "extended" to be a 4th lane all the way to the interchange (SH1/SH2 split).

Well the new reserve bank rules are working, although in a rather ironic way.

Thought we might buy a house we saw for sale, rent it for a year and then once our son has some money sorted he can buy it off us for the same price.

But no, we are a couple of percent outside the 40 now required, so can't be done.

Oh well, I'll spend the money on another motorbike, and he can keep saving while the prices keep going up, or if all else fails rent a house off a chinese landlord for the rest of his life.

I ordered a wee gem for the bike from Italy. I shall not discuss the cost, but the exchange rate is in my favor. Funny how you justify that!

The site I have used before - extremely quick service and a very good tracking system - you can watch the parcel go in and out of international DHL depots through Europe, Singapore then arrive in Auckland, four days to NZ. Impressive. Auckland to Christchurch overnight, now it's been two days with the local courier ....... hope the bugger delivers on a Saturday!

Snap, my VW windscreen needed replacing for a second time in the last 3 years and this time I was going to get a new seal as namelss crack fixing one reused the old one, screen leaked and they blamed the rust that needed attention.
Anyway, I digress from my story, ordered part overseas as I'm tired of silly NZ margins, arrived in 3 days!!!!
However I was not home and they only deliver on week days or I could pick it up from the depot.
So had to drive to the Airport and get it.
Combined overpriced NZ, poor vendors, and couriers into one rant.

All good now, sorted out rust with POR 15, got a rattle can of colour matched paint and screen is back in.

Slight correction, the banks have been instructed to 'voluntarily' apply the rules now, and that bit I can understand, otherwise there would be a 6 week feeding frenzy which would crank prices up further and add to the problem they are trying to fix. The interesting bit now is watching to see if the latest trick has any effect or not.

My thoughts exactly, what are you going to invest in that doesn't involve the possibility of some fucker with more money and better lawyers than you relieving you of your investment, and then somehow when it all turns to shit walking away none the poorer for the experience.

Regardless, the current exercise was an attempt to help a first home buyer minimise the time and cost of getting into a house, hence why I find the outcome ironic.

Fucking dog ranger came around today. Didn't knock on the door, just walked around the house looking through the windows. He got to the other end and there was Doris, myself and our unregistered dog.
