You know that peculiar smell of the dentists? You know, that smell that is the dentists and no other place. That smell is the shit they stuff into a dry socket. Alvogyl is what its called
The smell is cloves (Eugenol) Remember those pot pori oranges that were covered with them. They smell the same.

The brown colour of the dental paste is likely from iodine.

I don't know about poofy oranges but I've smoked clove cigarettes - Kretek. I'd never made the connection before. Huh.

I always thought the cloves smell it was actually to cover the smell of abbesses halitosis and antiseptics.
Until today I never actually knew it was both a powerful antiseptic and a local anesthetic.
Well I have never smoked an orange.
But those clove oranges things were big in the nineties for those kids craft school stuff for Xmas.

Passed one, couldn't catch it - nearly passed out from the relief...2nd one done surgically and they didn't give it back.
