No one complained about tyres dropping off, and I don't think the commentators went on about it like they normally do either.

Ok, that's the weather and temps sorted, now we need a good batch of rubber?
Race times like rugby world cup games are set to meet the Euro timetable for TV

Nah. They only recently unfixed it. They put the PI and Sepang programmes back to be better for European TV. So now the main race starts about when the rain is due if it's coming.

The later time can also effect Phillip Island as the temperature can drop dramatically in the afternoon there.

Isn't the problem that the riders can't keep enough heat on the right side of the tyre? Did I see someone say Marquez levelled his speed off once he got in front and maybe he should have just kept pushing hard and kept the front tyre warmer.

Hey Honda usually innovate first, so is it time they introduced some sort of built in tyre warmers in the wheels, or is that against the rules already?
    Cheers

    ?
Think MM himself fully admitted fault, and said he simply got in too hot and took the wrong option of trying to brake late and hard to make the corner. Should've used the escape road. Had that much of a lead, he could've rejoined and still won.

Won me my money. But I'm not bitter about that. Mumble mumble mumble...grizzle groan grizzle.

Properly impressive to finish ahead of a few of the full time riders. If I was a GP rider and some local superbike guy beat me I'd be shitting bricks come negotiation time.

Vinales needs to catch a fucken taxi back to the seat as he stands the bike up.
Could be down to his physical condition perhaps?

The age old debate: Stand it up or lean further? MM seems to be the lean further type unless there's a rider in front of him.

There were comments about riders dropping off. Three riders chose the hard front, two of the three went down (ESP & MM) and the other (CC) was a worried man.

While Marquez said it was his fault it seems that the tyre may have been a contributing factor.

    Oxley mentions that here: http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/op...ommie-pantheon

I think he was going pretty well too considering.

Yes,Crashlow managed his hard front better than Esp and MM, keeping heat in it as temps dropped.Have to give him that. So many different winners this season has demonstrated the problems of tyres and conditions.
Rossi on the other hand, showed he probably cooked his soft front carving thru the grid from 15th.
(that's just my personal take ).

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.

Yeah, respect to Crutchlow, he won fair and square. I know the pommie press are talking him up real big now, but I reckon he needs to be doing it consistently before any party hats are broken out in terms of him being a World championship contender. To be fair to the Pommie press, we would be doing the same if a kiwi were winning races - after all it was a very impressive ride from him.

As for for Lorenzo, he is riding a bike acknowledged as being the most forgiving and easy bike to set up for any given track - and next year he is moving to the opposite. I too believe the Ducati will destroy him. When in an interview earlier this year, Rossi was asked "Will Lorenzo move to Ducati in 2017" His reply was "A move to another bike takes balls, so Lorenzo will stay where he is" - I remember thinking at the time, you bloody cunning bugger Rossi, that little gauntlet/Jibe will be hard for Lorenzos ego to ignore. I know it will be far from the only reason Lorenzo jumped, but felt at the time it was very likely a real tipping point - if not THE tipping point for Lorenzo making his decision. I'm really looking forward to next year that is for sure! This year has been a stunner too - long may this action reign!

    Hair hare!

Been a stonking GP season, best one since '13 when the Spanish trio were bashing fairings and traction control sensors.
May 17 be a year where all the riders are comfortable on the tyres and are swapping race wins. Might see a Ducati world champion?

That's why they hired Lorenzo. I think he will be under huge pressure (by both Ducati and himself) by mid-point next year unless he is in the top 3 point wise.

    Ducati world champion? Ya dreamin!

Next year I'm going to look out for:
    • New kids on the block Johann Zarco and Alex Rins. Have good feelings with Suzuki especially with AI on board. Hoping to see lots of Suzuki podium finishes.
    • MV on Yamaha
    • New KTM team
    • Yonny Hernández in Moto2. Wonder how he will perform on a Moto2 bike?

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
