How it went down:
Billionaire and Real Estate Mogul Donald Trump Wins US Presidential Election: http://www.globalresearch.ca/billion...ection/5555966![]()
It's amazing really the number of people now saying they predicted a Trump victory. Some people expressed concerns, but I only know of one "pundit" who predicted the outcome correctly. A professor in the States who didn't use polls, he had his own set of indicators which he said were aligned for Trump. A week or so ago the Washington Post went back to him and asked if he wanted to change his mind, but no, he "doubled down". And he was right.*
Anne Coulter claimed she was right, but she was just spouting her extreme right wing rhetoric, which is different to predicting an outcome. Sort of like Yokel posting a load of clips ranging from the slightly unhinged to the outright insane. That's not a prediction either.
Mike Hosking, Newstalk ZB's resident bimbo referred this morning to "that saying about interesting times".
Actually it is reputedly Chinese although that is unlikely. "May you live in interesting times". It is supposedly a curse.
Whatever, we do seem to be living in interesting times.

At least the people of Iran might be able to sleep a little easier now.
And the TPPA is all but dead and buried.
The adage springs to mind - "men shall be known by what they do - rather than what they say" - lets just wait and see if he walks his talk!.

Exit polls indicated 53% of people who voted Trump were women or POC (what americans call non-whites)
46% of the U.S didn't vote.
I've just been reading on another forum the worries of an American on medication supplied on what I take to be Obamacare...
Trump pledged to axe Obamacare as soon as he was sworn in.
This guy reckons that without something to take it's place he'll be dead in a month. Says he's taking $3000US worth of meds a week.....
Talking suicide - and says he knows more in the same boat too.
Interesting times indeed. We're into the land of unforseen consequences now.
Similar story to all the people with gender dysphoria who are mid transition on hormones etc who now face the very real possibility they will have that pulled like a rug from under their feet.
Imagine that, half-man, half-women, abandoned by your government and fellow citizens.

Trump did say he would repeal Obamacare and replace it with something better. Hopefully he'll get that in the right order. Hard to see though, so many Republicans seem opposed to their fellow citizens having access to healthcare.
This morning on the 'Net I came across a British TV programme from three months ago. The result having been a major surprise, they had studied the Brexit vote figures and concluded that people, particularly those on lower incomes, do not like telling strangers what they are planning to do. So when a stranger, the pollster, calls they say they are undecided. The TV dudes took the percentages of how the undecided British voted in the Brexit vote, then applied those same percentages to the undecided figures in the three key states in the US election. The prediction was a win for Trump.
The pollsters should learn from that - but probably won't.

I don't wish to sound heartless, but that country (and many others) have huge problems that saving some money would go a long way to fixing. If he keeps doing what has always been done he will get the same result.
If say one million people are consuming $150,000 of medication a year with no contribution that represents a decent financial burden, but you can bet the numbers are far higher than that.
I was never a big fan of his, but I believe that he loves America & that alone is worth something.
I wouldn't panic too much about Trumps promises, Like almost every politician, he will do a U-turn on most pre election pledges.
American flags have been burnt amidst riots protesting at his win, FFS, they did the voting.![]()
