If you do get crap service or are generally unhappy with the establishment/food ( in the State ) , etc, to tip 1 cent ( a US penny ) is considered way more insulting than not tipping at all!
A friend of mine who is Hawaiian educated me on the need to tip while we were there a few years ago. I do get that many workers there are paid so poorly that tips are essential to them making enough to live. On that front I have no problem with observing the required rules when in the States. New Zealand however has not been a country with this expectation. I'm sure plenty of people would love the extra that tipping supposedly provides but how soon will it be before workers here come to think they have a right to your extra $ above and beyond what you are already paying.

...I've never had a problem with tipping someone in the service industry here if they have gone beyond their pay rate to make you happy or exude what you see as real professionalism...quality service deserves recognition...but only if you want to...

    It's friday.

I've finally stopped the spa pool leaking on the ground, stupid plastic fittings, stop being so cheap and use brass for fuck's sake. On a similar subject, why can't I buy a ball valve that doesn't fucking leak.

Anyway, end result is it's a nice evening, and the thing is full of cold water. Much better to be getting in with mrs when it's full of warm water, and the kids have been told to fuck off and leave us alone.

At least the fucking ducati runs now, small victories.....
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Are they asking for retarded stuff that can't be achieved like most film production people do with motorbikes?

Pull out of a park as the hero car comes past, light up the rear wheel and drift out onto the road and around a corner at an intersection.

Sorta thing that needs about four days prep.

Sounds fun, where did you sign up for that?
I know a young lady that had to ride a 1950's sidecar outfit with a small child in it, up & down skippers canyon for a day.
    Lucky nobody died.

Toss a handful of sand down where you need to break traction.

Ronnie Moore used to go and do demo rides at the UK paved speedways. A shovelful of sand where he needed to cross up and it was easy - for him.....

isn't everything south of the Bombay hills closed due to rumours of a quake....

should extended the ride so it included a chase through the railway station and underpass......

not that the results of the quake were unimportant.

Been asking Landlords for a copy of Earthquake Rapid Assessment Forms for some Wellington buildings since Tuesday. The only Rapid part is how quickly they ask for a Purchase Order.
The don't like it when you question the value of these " tick sheets'.
Even less impressed when you tell them your engaging your own Engineer.
Lighten up Wellington...there is noooooo hurry to get back to your cube farms

On leave now, R90s loaded up and off to the Burt.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
