There was an item on the TV One news about the new Invercargill museum. The reporter pointed out that the most expensive bike in the collection was a Brough Superior worth perhaps a million dollars. There was a row of them.

yeah some people get lost in the value of the old bikes buy talking monetary value and there's no way that bike came to NZ at that cost..
i assume all the artwork followed the bikes to invers, there is one item on the wall that cost more than any bike cost to buy for the museum when it was in nelson, if you want to recognise good shit in that museum the walls are where it's at.

the reference was to the one particular Brough Superior, the others are only gap fillers.
I would have thought one of the britton britten would have been worth more but then the museum only has them on loan from the britton family.

Still well worth a look and i will definitely be going back for a second look.

they certainly are but if you want to ride to nelson then off ya go, but we do have just as good roads down here as well and lets face it some of the best people are down here, they must be, my wife and i are here

Bugga! You'd have to go down via the West Coast highway now. Then again, weather permitting, that could well be the best bike ride ever.
The West Coast highway was once rated one of the world's 10 best rides. Any motorcyclist who doesn't enjoy that might consider trading their bike on a Hyundai.

nuthin wrong with that road in a hyundai either, way better than an over priced and over rated ford or holden.

and yes i do enjoy that road on a bike as well. incidentally it would actually be the quickest way if ya heading for the deep south now and is our preferred route when heading for nelson but you do have to be aware of the loopies in rentals and on bicycles
