I find the wind intolerable after I've had a few burittos !

The chirping eliminating from the seat area if my scoot is of great concern.

Wait till you've had you gall bladder out....The main side effect seems to be gas production.

Then again, there will be those who say nothing's changed....

Apologies. Thought I'd seen Wgtn in your details. This does change things a bit. You're not the "out of town" know-it-all I was actually referring to.

I hate it, for example, when people from the deep south look upon us northerners with derision when we claim that 0deg is "fucking cold".

oh for fucks sake, grow up petal.

you can keep that shithole you call auckland, having had the displeasure of having to listen to the fucken whinging that comes out of that shithole you sir may keep it. i do suffer having to fly in to auckland then endure the shit of a drive down to the BOP to visit my family but i must say it is a pleasure to come home down here in southland where 0deg is relatively warm. and wind is only scary to those who don't have enough confidence in their own ability and i have ridden in gentle gale force breezes when i lived in south canterbury and also whilst living in southland.

    again grow up petal.

Which only goes to further prove my point. All things are relative. Especially when it comes to individual human experience.

To you 0deg is warm. To most northerners it's cold. I just wish people like you would recognise that and shut the fuck up when all you can do is criticise.

ffs, like i said, grow up petal. i was born in and grew up in Te Puke so i do understand acclimatization, but when little flowers like yaself start whinging about shit that really doesn't matter it will only serve to get people winding you up more.
we do get sick of the fact that most of the news is about all the first world problems in auckland, i get fed up with the fact that we subsidise your roading network while ours fall to bits just so you can all drive your cars to work, i get sick of the fact that we subsidise your fucking power.
but at the end of the day i cant change that so i don't go on about it and i certainly dont let a little breeze or a frost or even snow stop me from riding and i certainly don't wank on about it.

now again, harden the fuck up petal

hell yeah, the wind reminds me of the gentle gale force breezes we got out in Orepuki. i remember when we first arrived there and people told us about the horizontal hail. kinda thought they were over dramatizing things, we found out fairly quickly that they were not in fact over dramatizing things.

It's not really derision, more resignation.

I don't think I can add anything to what I've already said. If you don't understand then it's time to agree to disagree.

BTW: I ride in all weathers (or what passes for weather up here). I've even cycled in -10deg and a foot of snow (actually got frostbite that day as I was just wearing my summer lycra).

Yeah, I hate it when I head out in the morning wearing nothing but a lycra body suit and the day ends up with a foot deep of snow in minus ten degrees
