It was -5 when I left home. 50km and a little bit of altitude later it was -10 with a foot of snow on the main street of Zurich. I generated so much heat back then that I didn't need to wear anything warm (except for the frosbite on my stomach). Also had the top half of my water bottle freeze solid a time or two.
