If it was NZ, no one would notice - but the US is very different.

I'm also surprised no US authority has come out contesting Putin's claim that Russia has the worlds best prostitutes....

Hitler reformed Germany. Reform isn't always positive. Trumps intentions may be good ... but you know what the road to hell is paved with.

Ladbrokes (UK bookies) odds on Trump - they should have another one on how long before someone takes him out. Probably not good enough odds.

Our system is different. In the US the President appoints all the heads of department, ambassadors etc, usually people who have put millions into his election campaign. For example his Minister of Education who had one of the most stunningly incompetent confirmations hearings ever. And she lied to the Senate which is a jailable offence. 'S OK though she donated millions, her husband has the Amway money. And 'cause Republican.

Our civil service heads are expected to be neutral, they stay in the job whichever party wins the election. Ambassadors are different, some of our ambassadors are career diplomats, but some are political has beens appointed by the govt.

Oh certainly....But if Trump is going to "make America great again" that's one area he has expertise in, and surely will do something about...

Trump speech consistent with his election rhetoric - just have to wait and see: "Men shall be remembered for what they do rather than what they say!"

As Obama claimed "Yes we can" - eight years later - result? - "NO HE DID NOT"

I think Obama will be remembered as one of the better Presidents.

Most of the others have been warmongers*....oppsss Defenders of the Free.

    * Gerald Ford....can't recall him doing anything much.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Yeah, I think his legacy will be huge disappointment. Whoever nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize needs a boot up the arse.

Obama's main positive legacy is the Affordable Care Act which gave health insurance to some twenty milion Americans who didn't have it. The Republicans have sworn to repeal it and have passed the vote to do so. Removing health care from 20 million of their fellow citizens could lose them some 20 million votes though. So having been 100% opposed ever since it was first mooted, they have to come up with something positive, they have to devise a replacement. Interesting.

So many men so many opinions - it's hard to fathom exactly what is and what isn't!

I think when Trump learns that he really isn't in charge the shit will hit the fan and they will have to "dispose" of him somehow. . .

It will be tough for them to find a new inconspicuous method! - But I'm sure they will think of something! -
