It does. Which begs the question, where do you begin to find and verify genuinely impartial but qualified comment?

I mean, the polarisation of opinion on pretty much every topic you can imagine is apparent everywhere, all based on questionable facts, do you just ignore the more radical and obviously partisan comment and average out the rest?

Not so much sour grapes as realistic? Trump himself is basically a con man. He hasn't released his tax returns which he said he would. he hasn't separated himself from his business interests as has been convention for forty odd years, and he has appointed his son in law to a position in his administration which is actually against a US nepotism law.

There is a law against a president accepting money from any foreign interests and the international nature of his businesses means he is almost certainly in breach of that. That law has never been tested though and the big question at the moment is who could enforce it anyway. He has probably dozens of legal actions against him in the process of going through the courts.

So he has surrounded himself with people he is comfortable with, that some of them have similar "values" to himself shouldn't be a surprise.

Having said all that, I really do hope he manages to keep his promises to the people that got "left behind" but I'm not holding my breath.

I can imagine a senario where Trump proves he is able to match his eloquence or his timing or his humour.

If he hasn't got a cake walk it'll be his own fault. The Republicans have the presidency, the congress, the senate, and Trump gets to nominate the next tie-breaking Supreme Court Justice. That gives him and his party control of all branches of Government.
