Your arena for remedy is the MVDT or the Disputes Tribunal, not the internet. Just saying.

I thought elections were decided by angry posts on social media. - F5 Dave
He sold me a Triumph street triple r with a very rusty chain.
Front brakes failed almost got killed!@
Fork seals ruptured.
Tyres were cracking 8 years old!!!
$1500 lata all fixed.
Sold on trademe then found out bike had been in a accident previously!!!.
He should not be in business...
Cracks me up how people buy used bikes then get pissed off when a new one does not roll off the transporter.
Yeah there's a line somewhere, CGA protects the purchaser more than dealer but there needs to be some liability to provide a vehicle is working condition. Been there when I bought a rooted Toyota from a dodgy dealer as a young idiot (test drive properly), I won, they lost.
Wow... Very aggressive. I just think that when you buy a used bike (especially an old one) that you expect to replace consumables. I also think that bitching on here trying to create a class action is not the right way to go about things. If this guy was such a poor dealer surely there would be more aggrieved people here on Kiwibiker.
Apologies, it looked like a troll post and got a troll response.
Consumables? I'd hardly call fork seals and failing brakes a consumable. If you look into the CGA you'd find that the dealer has a responsibility to provide it in good condition and to fix any faults that are on the vehicle when purchased and that occur with 1 month (not 100% sure on that 1 month figure I'm going off memory here).
I don't think anyone on here expected a perfect bike, they would have expected to be able to ride the bike safely though.
Fair enough. Was not trying to be a smart arse. I guess the point that I was trying to make (poorly it would seem) is that used bikes are exactly that. It's my experience that there are some great bargains to be had from dealers when it comes to older bikes, however they are almost always in need of a big birthday (that's half the fun). If you pay expect the worst then surprises are often positive ones. Apologies for any offence caused.
That's a stupid way to think, especially buying from a dealer.
If a bike is advertised to be in a certain condition, and isn't, then the seller should be called out on it.
Simple fact is this guy imports bikes and sells them for top dollar, as a dealer and importer he has a duty to his buyers to provide a quality product or at least advise of any faults on the bikes. There's a long list of stuff he needs to make sure happens if he doesn't want to end up at the MVDT.
Don't apologise you'll soon find on here that abuse is the norm on Kiwibiker![]()
