I sense it's done for the publicity and not for the good of the Syrians. So we're ok with Nuking, Napalm, Claymores, Depleted Uranium, Agent Orange, Fire Bombing, stabbing, shooting, clubbing but suddenly killing people with gas becomes completely intolerable?

Well killing people with gas is what Hitler allegedly did, so that must make Assad gasp..... an evil dictator just like Hitler!

So now what Trump says according to the media is "a statement in fact" my how they have changed their tune.

The BBC must have shares in that proposed Syria gas pipeline.

simple question, why did the Soviets modify a air-raid shelter into a gas chamber? what was their intention?

I knew you'd love it, in a predictable manner as always.

A bit different having a list of sources on a site, but have a read anyway. I guess you'll be siding with Iran, Russia and their Syrian puppet customer.

Did you notice that the U.N. investigation failed to determine who was responsible?

Russia keeps a vital customer of their military equipment, gets to test and show off some of their stuff (no precision guided stuff though, as they don't have any...) to pimp their sales and marketing for other buyers.
The latest sarin attack tipped the scales, especially with a new Prez in town.

A bit of a Russian slip up in video #2, letting that footage get aired.

And yet the U.N. inspectors, at the site, couldn't determine who was responsible.

    Obviously the rebels.
Who else would be clever enough to use chemical warfare on their own stronghold. By doing this it will encourage Russia to come and help Fred Assad with some new aircraft, that can be used to drop more unguided bombs onto the rebel areas.
    Clever little buggers.

What if it actually was a conventional Syrian bomb that hit a target where rebels were storing chemical weapons?

That explanation makes a lot more sense than Assad deliberately drawing America deeper into the conflict.

Assad was sending a message to his internal opposition - who looked like doing better out of the peace deal than him - that he was still in a position of power and could still hurt them.
No one could predict that Trump would actually do something - I'd put money on his staff being as surprised as anyone.
He's said contradictory things about US invovement before - but I'd also bet that the deciding factor was to improve his popularity at home.

Actually, I'm not sure that is technically possible - from memory, the heat and shockwave from a high explosive charge (such as that from a Bomb) actually interferes with some Chemical agents.
