So an electric car now holds the Nur road legal record, how long until we see electric bikes starting to do the same to our road legal superbikes?

I asked myself that question and then asked google and apparently it has already happened:

That's a seriously quick bike and no way near as heavy as I though it would be at 225kgs. As much as I like the sound of a bike I'd love to open the taps on one of these. Charge times aren't too unreasonable either. I think a charging station at a few of the towns along the Coro GP would do you well when you stop to clear the head a bit, is this our future?
Latest PB John McGuinness column he talks about going to Japan to test the new Mugen Shinden. Seriously quick and recharges in three hours vs the last few iterations which charged overnight.

The technology (particularly) battery technology is advancing by leaps and bounds.

If I were a rich fucker I'd get me one of those Tesla S P100D cars - https://www.0-60specs.com/tesla-model-s-0-60-times/
    Yeah - 2.28s for 0-60mph.
That's the fastest production car in the world for 0-60mph.
Can't complain about 10.5s for the quarter mile either.
If you drive at a steady 100kph you are able to go more than 550km on a charge with one of these cars, that seems pretty usable to me.
Just a pity about the price of this car . . .

I was in Melbourne last month at Myers on level 6 they have a Tesla store. One of the most beautiful women I have ever seen (like, model/actress utterly stunning) was the sales chick. Because I am old and decrepit and no threat (plus it was her job I guess) she took pity on me and gave me the full tour of the luxo 7 seat SUV tesla. 700k range apparently, all the gee gaws and build quality comparable to Mercedes/Audi/VW. Also price comparative $160k AUD I think she said before extras.

The first gen nissan leafs are slow - the second gens have a wee bit of poke. My boss has one and it's no slouch up to 100km/h!

What do you mean by second generation? From what I can see the actual second gen hasn't been released.

Again, why say things that are verifiably false?

This part isn't true, despite what the sales people tell you. These cars have proven to be riddled with QC and design issues regarding fit and finish. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone - BMW/Audi/etc have been manufacturing vehicles for generations, and even they still make mistakes. Tesla is brand new, and it will take time to establish quality.

I said what I said based on things I have observed myself, not some bullshit I found online. I'll see if mr bossman wants to do a timed 0-100 run, in his new toy.

Yeah what the fuck would Askor know about EV's anyway?
    Don't be a wanker.

Also while you're busy not being a wanker please proceed with not believing all the figures on the net.
I just came across a guy who said a magazine tested the leaf and volt for accel figures using one of those test box thingys:

    ............LEAF Volt
    0-10mph:..0.7 sec 0.8 sec
    0-20:.....1.8 ..1.9
    0-30:.....3.0 ..3.1
    0-40:.....4.6 ..4.6
    0-50:.....6.7.. 6.4
    0-60:.....9.4 ..8.8
    0-70:.....13.1 ..11.7
    0-80:.....17.8 ..15.6
    0-90:.....24.7 ..20.6
    0-100:.....NA ..28.1

The 0-50mph seems reasonable, wonder why it's so much slower than the volt for the last 10mph? Of course this info could also be incorrect, cause internet.

Having drag raced a 4wd many times it's easy to see how the leaf driver could have got the jump on the WRX, very easy to bog a 4wd off the line especially if you're not expecting the little EV next to you to paste you off the lights.
