buying a fresh import off Turner's

The title says most of it... I'm weighing up this possibility:

    https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Lis...?id=1480301183

Looks like a lot of bike for the bucks, but what are the gotchas? Any other KB'ers done this?

Hopefully I can see it in the metal tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance for any help.

Defo have a look. It's at the Wellington damaged vehicle depo. It has one pannier.... To my mind it has a story to tell. Get the story before you buy.

I have bought a number of cars off Turners without issue, I would hope they are as straight up with bikes.

The other pannier is shown, but the following pic shows a broken bracket/latch of some description.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Far queue & miSTa had STs they'd both be able to give you some straight up info on them

As stock they're wickedly tall geared though

Following MiSTa a few years back heading down the Hakataramea valley I saw his bike hand-grenade the rear wheel bearings in spectacular fashion so much so that I heard it from a good 20m or so back travelling around 120 clicks above the sound of my own bike which wasn't exactly quiet by any means.
The bike ended up stranded for a week at the Dansey's pass holiday camp till he got bearings sorted for it. he stick over that too as he used FAG bearings

A Ducati thing - I wonder if it is to pass noise regulations on a drive by.

$35 for a one tooth less front sprocket

Is it odd that it had a WOF mid year and no rego?

Probably for the rubber band brigade it is, but real dukes wear Contis and do the big FU to noise regulations

As long as you get to test ride it etc it can't be any worse than buying from some unknown cunt on Trademe.

I've always thought of Ducstis as a 23 year old sexy blonde with great Hooters.

Lovely to look at, but you dont want to take it home.

Understood, and I respect your choice, but I do want to take it home. After the absolute monza I've had with the 900SS I would have every right to declare against Ducatis, but I can't wait to get the old girl back together and onto the road again. It was always going to be highs and lows. I knew that when I bought the bike.

A lot of people have a go at the Ducs, a lot of people have never owned one or even ridden one.

A sexy blonde with great hooters... and brains... and character... yes please

That is odd, I'll ask what's been going on. Possibly Turner's WOF'd it to help the sale and it's been sitting around for a bit.

That sounds gay as aids. Who wouldn't want to take a blonde home. You probably wouldn't want to live with her though

The bro is in discussion with an outfit in Orks re a similar warrant issue on a car one of his kids bought.

Turns out that not only was the warrant itself "issued incorrectly", but it was six months old, not under 28 days as it should have been. The two rear tyres were well under minimum tread depth. Dodgy as fuck.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

Bang on. People who bag Harleys the most have never had one.

I've ridden a few Dukes. Just can't see myself owning one.
