Cool. They appeal to my 80s early 90s vision of what a real road motor cycle should look like.

Yeah, I've had Ohlins on my last four bikes and none of them were finished anything like that.

There was a Ducati sprotbike in a local dealer marked as an S model. Former KBer Sensei told the salesman that it wasn't an S model.

    "That's not an Ohlins shock."
    "It's got a yellow spring."

    "Those aren't Ohlins forks."
"They've got an Ohlins sticker on them."

Sensei had Ohlins on his bike, both ends, and he knew that of which he spoke.

The shocks on that Yamaha haven't got the yellow springs, they don't seem to have the magical Ohlins sticker, nor do they have the nice Ohlins anodised gold finish.

Come to the conclusion new Triumph twins are around $4000 pricier than they should be currently.

And this is certainly over priced https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/mot...03a0d885ed-012 Front wheel is non standard. $1000 it he is lucky.

I did see a nice CB550 Siuper Sportthis morning for around $3500 in ChCh but that looks like it's gone

It's a SAGA 4 in to 1. I've got the modified headers from the 500 I wrecked. Quite common cheap replacement exhaust system in the late 80s early '90s when OEM 4 into 4 exhaust systems rusted out.. Came in matt black or chrome finish and noisy as all hell. You can see my headers in my previous post. I cut the drain pipe off got an insert put in so I can have any muffler shape I want.

What about moister in the gearbox/crank? And oil circulation at the top end? I'd asume you turned the engine over at some point.
Or is it in a hermetically sealed box with all the oxygen sucked out and filed with an inert gas?

Ahh yes. They were quite crap. I once borrowed an ex cop bike XJ750 of someone Dodgy, erm same one from last page, about, er, 20 years ago, heck 25? And I got Cycleworks to weld an old GSXR muffler on to quieten the thing down a bit.

I named it affectionately Piglet on the sidecover and took it to the Brass.

Fuck sake people are dreamers! On top of that it has been shortened so will require reworking with expense to get it right for most people, limiting its appeal. I'm 5'8 with shortish legs, I rode a mates and no way did I think it was too tall. It probably limits your market to people 5'6 or shorter.
