It’s an imperative to keep people safe.
Here is a hint if the subject is China not sharing data. now why in all probability might he say "should have let us know"

It’s not so surprising that the Covid 19 Support bill has become bogged down in the Senate with partisan squabbling over what other unrelated items could be shoe-horned into a “must pass” bill.
Joe Citizen could have some good reason to feel aggrieved over the lack of concern and urgency being shown by their politicians. Especially when Don has declared “war” on Covid 19, and states that he has invoked the Defense Production Act.

But today, we find out that it's a "war on Covid 19”, but it's not a "war". And that the Defense Act has not actually been invoked, and that no orders have been placed for the supply of items like masks and respirators in the interim.
Why ? Because to do so under the Defense Act would be "socialist". Seriously ?

And to do so, the US Federal government would have to be seen to take some action to (say) prevent price gouging. Or to help direct equipment to the areas of greatest need (as opposed to areas willing to pay the highest price).
Surely the CDC pointed out a potential shortage of ventilators earlier ? Well, they did - 3 years ago, precisely for an event as a pandemic. But, in the meantime, well, you know, funding cuts.

I'm bloody pleased I don't live in the USA, they have been backwards in a lot of ways for a long time now, but under Trump it's just crazy. Literally. There are crackpots appearing on FOX, including Texas Lt Governor Dan Patrick, who says grandparents should sacrifice themselves so the grandkids can have a better economy. And Trump watches this crap.
There is another dude, name escapes me, has a record of making predictions about the economy which are usually way wide of the mark, but Trump likes him, he's on Fox after all. He is not actually an economist but he's saying people need to get back to work. So of course Trump is now considering ending the US lockdown for Easter.
