The US Republicans are beating up Critical Race Theory as some sort of threat. They say it's being taught in schools, Senator Ron Johnson R Wisconsin, has actually said it's being taught in kindergarten.

CRT is a university level subject, serious books have been written about it and no, I haven't read them. That's OK, it's very unlikely any of the Republicans have either. It's just one of the many options offered to students studying for a law degree.

Some of the southern states are banning any mention of slavery, lynchings, or any other unpleasantness in school history lessons. Those states are generally ranked bottom for educational attainment in the US so it probably won't make much difference anyway.

Odd those states are the ones that tend to go on about a cancel culture.
Maybe its okay to be an edit culture. Where you just go and edit out those bits you don't want to admit happened.

That's such a historically inaccurate statement that I'm tempted to just ignore the rest of the post.

Viruses aren't new. Every year we get Flu season - it's even got a morbid nickname 'Old Man's Friend' - because every year Old people catch it, they may not die directly from it, but the complications arising from it are very common. There are some aspects of the policies I can agree with, the complete over-reaction, however - I cannot.

And I'll give an example - Someone I know is an essential worker, they have children and no option for childcare, they have to send them to school in L3 conditions. Their child got sent home for a snot Nose. Now they can't work.

Why? Because under L3 the MoH has zero tolerance for any displays of any illness, regardless of whether it's related to COVID in any way. I'm not sure about you - but I certainly get sniffles in Winter - I'm sure you have too.

It's the overreaction that I have an issue with - the countrywide lockdown for a single case, now with time, there are more cases - but only in Auckland and Wellington - why is the rest of the country still in Lockdown?

Perhaps I'd prefer that they stopped trying to protect me and started protecting my Freedoms. How would you feel if they stopped you from Riding a Motorbike - afterall it's a new law - designed to protect people. It's the same Logic.

Perhaps that is a better illustration of how I feel.

Why is there such a tight correlation between the displays of Mask wearing and Political view?

When it comes to actual masks - I think it's the N95 grade - those are fine - they stop 99.99 something percent, other 'proper' masks are about 60% effective and a homemade cloth mask (remember this is advocated on the Government Website) - actually increases the risk (from memory, it's because it's porous enough to allow the droplets through, but the fibres hold onto the droplets, prolonging the exposure to the wearer).

I've got no issue with people in high-risk areas (Medical staff, Aged Care workers etc.) requiring proper PPE. I can also stretch to things like on public transport - especially flying, needing a Mask (Enclosed space, long periods of time, recirculated air).

The Wider mask mandates, I'm not a fan of. I have no issue with individual choice, but Mandates - not so much.

It's not just about Media (although the Media as a whole has a left-wing slant, despite a few Right-Wing channels existing), but Social Media, The Corporate world - there has been a slow creep of intersectional ideology (which traces it's roots all the way back to Marxism)

I have however witnessed first hand the systemic racism leveled at black people every day for nearly 2 years while I was there. Trust me, the black people have an absolute rock solid case to be complaining about it.
So we need to separate 2 things:

No one is denying that there are Racists and there is Racism. When you say 'Systemic' - what System, what specifically?

Then you have to ask, if this is the case, why are Asian Americans outperforming everyone in the US? Is the supposedly white-supremecist structural racist system benefitting Asians (and let's remember the hangovers of the persecutions of the American Japanese during WW2, and the animosity towards Asians due to Vietnam)

However CRT - you should look into - because you aren't immune to it, under that world view - you are inherently racist - I know you aren't Racist, you might say you aren't racist - but under the Auspices of CRT, you are.

It's not CRT itself that is taught, it is the effect of CRT that are coming into schooling system.

Like when a school separated students by Race, because of the ideas present in CRT.
Like School Teachers having 'Racial Pride' flags.

Kind of a shame you didn't. The first virus in modern times to spread across the World effecting pretty much every country. Did not think I had to spell it out, but there you go.

You acknowledge one case became many. Delta has kicked every other countries arse that had previously had a successful elimination strategy. And now you want the rest of the country opened up. In this case are being a complete wally. I'm good with the current status of the lockdown.

With your views - "Why is the rest of NZ still in lockdown?" Wallies need protecting from themselves and from them harming others.

Because wallies are so wound up in politics that they cannot separate politics from a public health issue. As you would know.

He simply could not behave eh. He was warned, he continually ignored and pushed on, then got pushed out. I have no problem with that. Not being a twitter kind of guy, I've not looked at the Taliban feed, but I can only assume they are behaving better than Trump. Not hard.

I should of read the definition for that. I simply meant widespread/ingrained. I saw it first hand. It was so ingrained, the majority of the white people were oblivious to what they were doing. For instance the large mural in the local post office depicting slaves working in the fields. I could not believe it when I saw that. Most of the postal workers in the branch were black. I talked to several of them about it - it was illuminating listening to their response.

I would say determination DESPITE the widespread racialism leveled against them. Do you get much feedback from Asians on the right wing leaning forums and news sites you visit?

Actually I'm open to myself having some racist leanings, I think just about everyone on the planet does, whether intentional or not. Certain things are ingrained in us that would absolutely be perceived as being racist by other cultures. I get told off by my kids quite often. I think they are being too sensitive, but are they?

So much nonsense in one post but just three examples:

    1) So the kid gets a test, if negative it goes back to school - no problem. Unless you want to create one?

    2) They did. A minor piss off. Life goes on. Today is a lovely day, I'll go for a walk instead.

    3) An absurdity. Trump consistently breached Twitter's terms of service. His account was allowed to continue because he was the president and because of the public interest in his 'official' utterings. He was told that when no longer president he would need to comply, he did not. He's gone. FGJ.

TDL can string a sentence together quite well. Hes clearly not as stupid as he makes out he is.

He's just trolling, pretending to be a complete fuckwit to try get a rise.

That's why hes been on ignore. I can only see when he is quoted, and it follows the same pattern.

Nah. Now your just making shit up. Again. And again, most teachers would know nothing about CRT it's a law school subject.

Just one more thing to keep the deplorables, theirs and ours, worked up.

TDLR is a internet troll?, Never really considered it, but its a plausible theory as to why he posts the twaddle he does.
Although most trolls do not post such text walls he sems to spend a extrordinary amount of time posting his responses.
There was a news item on Fox the other day suggesting internet trolls have poor sexual performance and are smaller than average peckers it all seem to add up. Fox does know republicans.

Today was the twentieth anniversary of 9/11, you may have noticed. It did seem a little odd that neither of the finalists in the US Open tennis today was even born then.

Anyhoo, all of the living US presidents attended a commemoration somewhere in the US. Well, all except one. Your guess which one.
