I was responded with a message from the dealer, that warranties on new motorcycles are not transferrable. At first I thought this guy at the dealership had access to some good weed and drugs, but I followed up with Kawasaki NZ. To my shock they stated, the warranty on a new motorcycle is ONLY linked to the original purchaser.
So, if you guys see people advertising stuff on Trademe with comments like "14 months factory warranty remaining", just know it may not be the case. Surely this cant be right ? From my past Suzuki's and other brands, the warranty was linked to the bike, not the owner... assuming of course you kept the bike serviced at the dealers, and not mess around with stuff that could affect the reliability. Anyone else had experiences like this in the past in dealing with Kawasaki ?
Just to be clear, there is nothing wrong with the bike, but surely a flagship model with VERY low mileage and full service history from Kawasaki, I would expect better. I bought this bike for having peace of mind, knowing its almost brand new.
I am in conversation with one of their technical managers, hoping they do right by their brand name in NZ.
