I was going to say , sorry Beekeeper, I sniped the 1000 page header by accident.

But re the Beemer with the badly made pipes, my burning question was merely "Ouch! Who designed the pipes at thigh level?!?@@#!!"

a (very) long time ago* I went up to the mezzanine floor of Whites in Dixon Street to look at used bikes - it was almost like that.

*Long go enough that Garry Gill was selling bikes there and offered me a look.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

There is/was a small vehicle collection in Te Kopuru. I say that cos I heard the old guy died recently. Whoever was telling me that also told me that it was all getting sold off. All the mezzanine floor was bikes, mostly pom stuff but there was one downstairs, a mid sixties Triumph Tiger still in the crate. The lid was loose and he showed us but 5 decades of dust had accumulated and it needed some kind of attention I guess. So, not sure if it has been sold or what but interesting. What would it be good for tho, still in the crate? The sides and top were ply so you could only look down upon. I think they come packed complete but front wheel off?

So the talk of my mates while away is that the DR650 should be reintroduced with ABS as people are asking silly money for high mileage bikes as you can't get them new. . . They reckon it will happen.

That first one is shite though.

Probably need fuel injection too, and all the fluff that goes with it. It'd still only have an analog speedo though...

a $7k Royal Enfield Himalayan is functionally equivalent and significantly cheaper, surely?
