So whats the payload for this..... hint its only 15 ton
How many megachargers are there to fast charge these to advertised times.... 2 that i can find ?
has this charging speed been verified by independent journalists ...well no we just need to trust elon.....
What's the range on hilly terrain... oh thats not mentioned ?
In production now... great, hint its already 5 years past its due date for production....
Pepsis ordered 100 trucks, .....great but dont they have a fleet of 36,000 trucks in total.....
ps telma brakes are old news. Also Our old shitter trains here have had regen braking for decades.
This quarry was the first place i seen a telma being used
i cant remember what they had them on but they might have been theswinging axel backbone chassis Tatras.
Electric has its place short hall or in the cities like the old milk floats.....

Kinky is using a feather. Perverted is using the whole chicken
I'm not sure the threats are all that credible. After all the guys he is sucking up to are the ones who use terrorist tactics.
Musk is fond of bullshit. He posts tweets then subsequently deletes them. He has received many millions from various taxpayers without delivering much. He takes personal credit for what the engineers achieve. There is a fine line between how he operates and what a conman does. Too fine.
He tried very hard to get the US Govt to adopt proprietary Tesla charging systems but they sensibly resisted and used a universal charger.
He doesn't care much about the Tesla cars and reportedly it shows in the quality. When Tesla makes a profit it's from the sale of carbon credits, not cars.
Oh, and his big Twitter political interference expose went splat. Complete nonsense.

A bit of fact checking and real word trucking notes....
It was not “ carrying” 37 ton it was grossing 37 ton. Spy pics showed a flat deck (major help in economy vs box van or curtains) carrying concrete barriers for test.
Most NZ big rigs gross 48 ton under the new regulations. That extra 11 ton would really kill the range and maybe cook the motors on NZ hills so donÂ’t expect to see it here soon.
ItÂ’s common consumer knowledge that running a battery system close to zero constantly shortens itÂ’s lifespan.
Even if fast charging (something else that kills batteryÂ’s) to 70% is plausible I can tell you that due to many circumstances beyond a drivers control heÂ’s not going to magically be at a fast charge facility at unloading or rest break location.
The only type of work where this system is useable is likes of amazon/Walmart type work where you own and control the facilities at points of loading and unloading. But very few business operate that model. Even then a lot of their trucks are subcontractors operating small fleets of 10-20 trucks etc.
Doing high mileage all the road vibration takes its toll, eventually wires will chaff or insulation will breakdown, at 1000V DC that is going to be spectacular! No matter the manufacturer when your doing big kms stuff just breaks time to time.
Electric Jesus claims a magic windscreen that is unbreakable... wonder if he tested against logging truck thatÂ’s just pulled out of forest spitting rock out of dual tyres at 180km/h closing speed....

It was tested on a mountainous roads with a full load, It kept up with cars and still achieved 500 miles
Pepsi has started to use them, Tesla will start deliveries with there cargo so they can work on any faults,so I guess it remains to be seen
Still, very impressive and the future is bright for an electrified trucking fleet
Tesla didn't mention FSD, to political I guess, millions would lose jobs if it happened to fast, a gradual introduction to replace the driving industry should be the best approach, gives time for these drivers to find other work, FSD subscription I would charge on an annual subscription to companies, perhaps 25% of a human annual salary truck driver annual income.
Infrastructure is still coming for the semi, hell there's only about 20 or so Tesla semis built, so New Zealand is at best 2 to 5 years away before we see the first Tesla trucks on the state highway 1
I would presume a combination of Tesla, Private trucking companies (mainfreight etc) private charging contactors and government will start on the Truck charging stations infrastructure around NZ in the next few years.
0 to 100km in 20sec , I'm presuming that's a full load, very impressive
2 kWh per mile energy consumption
Yes, the savings on fuel would pay for the investment in the Tesla semi in 3 to 5 years.
81000 lbs pay load
Again, the big one is FSD or level 5 full self driving "if" this is solved and passed by regulative authorities in a few years, it's game over.
Husenberg
Here's a hint, before you go to mainstream media to be further brainwashed
Why not
I don't know, go to the actual source or company that built the truck
Seriously? How can a news organisation have detailed information on the truck? Did the reporter build the truck?Did mainstream media drive the truck? Was mainstream media a passenger?

What's happened to New Zealand
Some key words jump out at me
"Never '
"Impossible "
"Dreamer "
"Won't happen "
"Can't happen "
What happened to us as a nation? Sir Edmond Hillary,Gene Batten, Bert Munro would be cringing at us today
Yes Musk is an Autistic South African American billionaire on the other side of the world, but because New Zealand is a nation of haters, there's nobody to aspire too here.
I've mentioned it before but it fits here. Heard an interview with a Kiwi working in the US on electric trucks. He felt electric cars are not the big fossil fuel savers. Most people only spend a small part of each day in their car. The big savings come in vehicles that are on the road all day. Courier vans, rubbish trucks. or whatever.
Some of the local rubbish trucks are electric so a start has been made..

Yes that is where it makes sense too in that metro stop start environment. A kiwi outfit is already distributing a large hotswappable type battery unit. Still it won’t suit all, you’d be surprised how many kms a decent city trucker can do in a day.
If musk was any true genius he would have just gone the power train route. Design and build a unit that fits in same physical space as a large 16 litre Cummins or Detroit engine bay, causecreally thsts all that needs changing right?
Saw a good clip other day, an EV car needs to cover 80,000km beforevits “ offset” the pollution caused by it development and building of new factory etc...

Tesla automotive regulatory carbon credits represent "only" 3% of year over year annual revenue
Most analyst including myself don't add it into there financial forcast because it's so little.
Download the latest Tesla "share holders deck" Quarterly report
It's page 4 second line, first line is Automotive revenue

This is also for the lady biker who said I don't research before posting, I own hundreds of thousands of Tesla stock
I know everything about the company.
I agree, wrong word, I know everything available to me or the general public, Fucken Tesla hide alot of shit from me
There employees get first dibs on shares, which is why they hide good news stories that pump the price and Tesla purposely don't deny bullshit stories that pop up all over the fucken place
It's frustrating as an investor because I know it's bullshit
But Tesla is looking after it's young engineers to buy the stock at a lower price while the media make up shit
It's fucken frustrating as an o.g investor watching the share price tank while Tesla plays on it for there employees to get access to a cheaper share price
But I understand, these young engineers are fucken brilliant, and deserve a larger ownership of the company instead of greedy pricks like me wanting the share price to double as fast as possible.
