Guys, im totally counting on exactly the scenario Laava is presenting. Once they havev autonomous driving in, at that point the hourglass starts running for the death of motorcycling as we know it.

I know for me at least, i could not handle my 06 ZX10R retarding the ignition in the first 2 gears before bypassing that shit, yet alone letting a fucking computer do everything for me. I know honda are working on self balancing motorcycles, so in theory automonous motorcycles may be possible, but count me out of that shit.

I doubt autonomous motorcycles will be created, the time and technology too invest in 2 wheels doesn't make practical sense, the only countries that could afford this would be wealthy western countries, and motorcycles demographics are to small to justify the billions it would cost to create an autonomous 2 wheel vehicle.

Motorcycles will likely be the last forum of manual transport operated by humans, I do predict it becoming very difficult to obtain a license or special permit to operate one, insurance premiums should come down along with registration costs as autonomous vehicles are likely to cut road deaths and accidents down by perhaps 50 to 90%.
