An interesting sidelight. In an interview with Trump discussing tariffs, he seems to think Indian motorcycles are made in India. He complains that Harley imports to India are high tariff items but Indians sold in the US are tariff free.

Harley build some in Asia and some in South America in order to get favoured nation status for sales in those regions. Pretty sure the HD seen here are all built in Thailand, No idea why HD's are high tariff items in India except it may have been Trump talking about US made versions.They do still build in the US for the home market mainly.

The duty on imported bikes in India is huge. Realistically a company wishing to sell in India builds in India, usually in partnership with an Indian company.. KTM, Harley, and now Triumph, all build (or in the case of Harley built?) their smaller models in India.

I believe the little Harleys sold in the US were made in the US. Everybody else got Indian built.
