Less than 100 days on the job and the brake has been put on the runaway train wreck of inflation caused by Labours reckless spending.
Today reserve bank kept official cash rate steady, that’s a damn big win for anyone with a mortgage.
    Your wallets say thank you.

Arrogant, entitled, multi millionaire owner of seven properties, piece of shit luxon, claiming $1000 per week for living in his own property in Wellington, because Premier House isnt good enough, Yes the rules says he can, but morally and ethically, especially as a key part of his agenda is going after "undeserving beneficiaries", completely unconscionable.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Now if you read past the clickbait headline…
“ What is wrong with Premier House?
PM Christopher Luxon, in a briefing upon entering the top job, was told many of Premier House's facilities were reaching “end of life”.
Jacinda Ardern was the last prime minister to live in the house, and she publicly documented leaks and problems with possums in the roof and walls. In 2020, she was told the “dated and basic” home needed structural repairs.
Ardern created the Premier House Board, made up of heritage experts and other appointed by both the Government and Opposition, which produced a report on work needed to be done in September 2023.”

It’s part of his salary package approved by previous govts and therefore the voters/taxpayers. Just like a million dollar per year CEO might get a company car when he could afford to buy his own etc.
If you want something to be angry about it should be the massive superannuation they get as soon as elected for life and it’s a lot more than the average pensioner gets.

Well, that U-turned quickly, didn't it? Luxon realising how out of touch with the feelings of the "common folk",

    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political...tion-allowance

The U-turn came just hours after Luxon defended his use of the allowance to reporters in Queenstown, calling it an "entitlement".

He had campaigned on wasteful public spending and a need for cost cutting across the public service and under the coalition government, ministries have been asked to find at least 6.5 percent of savings.

"It's an entitlement and I'm well within the rules," he said.

Luxon was the first prime minister in at least 34 years to take the subsidy.

Luxon and R650R, both are out of touch.

Guess who the last one was...
English claimed an allowance but decided to pay it back after it was revealed he claimed nearly $1000 a week to live in his family home, which was officially deemed a ministerial residence.

Everyone makes mistakes, he owned it and corrected it. No different to when labour promised no new taxes then sneakily tried to add tax to KiwiSaver before doing a faster uturn.
Today in the news we have a celebration of 100 days of success this govt is making things happen.

Only corrected after he was embarrassed into doing it. And, no new taxes indeed. What would you call the motor vehicle registration increase?

The rego is a Vehicle Licence "Fee ", not a tax. The same as when Labour promised no new taxes then quickly increased the fuel "duties". English can be a very precise language when used well. In politics we need to listen to what is said, not what we think is said.

If I may be permitted a little trip down memory lane.

Some years back there was concern from music companies about people downloading music, ripping CDs etc, without paying. There was no concern about the music companies ripping off their artists though.

A National MP stood up in Parliament and said that people who copied music without paying were thieves and thieves should be punished. She then went home and posted on FaceBook that she was playing K Pop sent to her by a friend. It's doubtful that her friend had paid but she certainly hadn't. We'll ignore her questionable taste, but that post did demonstrate a somewhat surprising lack of awareness.

And that same simpleton is now our Minister of Broadcasting?
