I'm not a racing expert but I was of the understanding that the lead bike has the ROW in that sorta instance. I'd appreciate some wisdom there.

Yeah, for me that was Peccos fault. He was never going to make that without major contact.
Martin rode a absolutely perfect race. Bastinini was hanging in there at max, good result for him. Maverick was genuinely unlucky, with a behaving gearbox, he may of been able to win.

Acosta, wow just wow. I thought we would see the reemergence of the alien class rider/s this year in the form of MM being on a competitive bike, but it is actually Acosta who has already graduated to alien status! You could clearly see he did not give one shit about where and what the back end was doing, as long as the front end was kinda pointing in the generalish right direction he was all good. To not just stay on the bike when it was bucking and sliding all over the show, but to barely lose any time while doing it has me struggling to think of any other past riders that had the ability to pull it off as regularly and as often as what Pedro was!
This post race quote was eye catching from Acosta.... “Yesterday we were losing a lot in turn four and five, also the exit of turns five and six.“But today, seeing how Pecco was playing with the bike and with the body helped me understand how to ride the bike.”

So not bad, observe the current World Champions long and painstakingly developed stye, and incorporate it as your own style on the fly, then use it to beat said World Champion a few laps later. All in real time - Wow.

I think Pecco had a brain explosion. I mean, he just got passed by a Rookie.

MM's move = late but clean. Then he was lead bike. For me it came down to the size of the impact in the slowmo.
It was just too harsh to be a racing incident.
Therefore: bad decision Pecco he was never going to make it = Peccos fault = penalty.

Seems Pecco is a little rattled ATM its showing on track.

Edit: and Pecco was already wide and over shooting into MMs space

Agreed, he was never going to make that pass. Perhaps he anticipated Marc running wide, but that was risky if he stayed on line.

Pecco probably only missed out on P5, but did hand everyone behind him 2 places.

Really unfortunate for Vinales, he probably would have held on for 2nd. This is by no means the first time that mechanical problems have lost Aprilia a strong finish

Yeah, Pecco thought Marc had gone wide, but he hadn't and stayed on line. As Marc said, just not worth it for 2 points.

Vinales had trouble getting into 6th for the whole race, and then it wouldn't. Good to hear him being positive after the race, hopefully he can keep going strong for the rest of the season.

MM should offer to ride for GasGas/KTM for free. He loves abusing the front and Pedro just put on a master class of it.

Maverick would have won the GP without the gearbox issues.
