Judge Merchan has responded to submissions by Trump's lawyers that he recuse himself and that, as president, Trump has total immunity. This is the Stormy Daniels/election interference case, the events of which took place before Trump was elected president but that's just a detail. Merchan has set the date 16 Sept for a hearing but has told them to keep the 18th free. The 18th has been reserved for sentencing.

Harris' pick of Minnesota Governor Walz as her VP running mate seems to be more warmly received in the US than it has been on the local news here. Harris is regarded by some in the US as a member of the coastal elite and out of touch with real Americans. Walz is the opposite of that. He is a Democrat governor in a rural state, was a school teacher, served over twenty years as an NCO in the National Guard, and has strong union support. He is a hunter and gun owner. His policies are progressive.
Some felt Harris should have picked Shapiro, governor of Pennsylvania, as she must win Pennsylvania to win the presidency. Time will tell.

Well, this is awkward...
I watch a podcast featuring Anthony Scarammuci, who worked on the 2016 Republican campaign and was briefly President Trump's Director of Communications in 2017.
Ironically he suggested that if the polls get too bad for President Trump, he could do a Biden and drop out in favour of a less polarising Republican candidate, on the condition that said candidate delivers him the necessary pardons if they win. And they would be a "PINO", with Trump pulling the strings in the background once elected. Kind of like a "deep state" situation.
I guess if his legal troubles ever do get too prison-y, President Trump would be a welcome guest in any number of autocratic vacation spots.
It's all so mental.

There is a video where trump says to one of the people that were in the background when he was shot ,about how he would be proud to be in a foxhole with him.
I remember what trump said about soldiers, as i am sure you do. Also how he dodged the draft multiple times. So I am somewhat bewildered how he might end up in a foxhole? Rather the as a guest of fox news.
