Bit of a mechanics bike IMO. Like Ducati. But Indian made with old school british bike performance. Hardly a modern bike, however the reliabilty may be OK…

I idly considered one but after my last retro bike experience i opted for a Husqvarna Svartpilen. I definitely made the right call for me

I think the Himalayans are a step up, and maybe all the current models but they have had issues. I spoke to a guy on a continental and he said all the chrome on the tank was rusting from underneath. As in, tiny blistery bits. Other than that he was happy. My D.I.L is a mechanic at the RE dealership and she has told me a couple of things, not that they affect all bikes as in, one of them, a Conti, didn't even make it the 2km to vtnz before locking a rear wheel bearing. Assembled without spacer between the bearings in the factory. A one off but almost unforgiveable.
i have lately been looking at the Himy vs 450MT and going off the reviews, hard to split them. I wont test ride until I'm ready to pony up tho

Was also a problem with Japanese mufflers when they used to chrome them straight over steel. Chrome plating is porous, which is why proper (ie show quality) is triple plated. Copper, nickel and then chrome. Which costs. A good coat of wax on the tank chrome will help prevent water penetration. Also wrt to RE, a mate who has bought a 650 twin said the rear shocks were hopeless and have been replaced with hagons.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.
