    Ahh, a real bike Brucie.
Check what the needle is. If it's a N1FE (as they are std) we can get it running properly for about $30.

What year is that? Hmm, old carb.
    Forks are retrofit off something?

I sold my 07 300 a couple of weeks back.

New owner loves the bottom end power. Reshaping the head improves them a lot in slow stuff.
People think of the tiny capacity 2 strokes they have ridden and compare them with big foul strokes. A 300 is a different animal to a 200.
Don't you look at my accountant.

    2009, EC
    45mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic fork
    Ohlins monoshock with progressive linkage
    38mm Keihin PWK
    EXCEL rims

asuming nothing been changed... I know nothing about these but googling shit the EC is a enduro and should have speedo dash, tail light etc but it does not.
its done life hard but the engine is a fresh rebuild, looks new compared to the rest.

And Dave... whats the red toggle switch for on the right bar, up is a small buton down is bigger?

The toggle switch turns Rain mode. It just retards ignition 3*, but that actually helps in the muck to reduce it stepping out.

Marzzocho Shivers on my 07 were Black coated on sliders and dark on uppers. But I fitted YZ250 forks in the end.

When you next pull the slide out, check the needle number. If std they make the bike pretty stumbly. Should never feel like it clears out and comes on song strong. It should always be on song.

Should be, switch usually has a marking, but who knows if it has been changed?

That's a shame re locknuts. Perseverance.

Axle with a multi axletool. Common on most modern bikes.

    Any bikeshop.

Pop tye forkleg off (assuming head of bolts gone) and take to an old school engineer. Better than shagging the lower.

I woke up to pissing rain and decided I wouldn't bother with Amberley and the others I know had pulled the plug on it as well, however I was told weather onsite was better so after fucking about for a bit loaded up and went

Just about perfect conditions, although was getting dusty by the second lap, a lot of it tight forestry 1st and 2nd gear, lap 2 I put it in X Trainer mode and used 3rd and a lot more clutch through a big part of it

The track gets pretty cut up through the trees as the day goes on with the tree roots getting more and more exposed, but the soft dusty soil is so good for traction

Went up one interesting gully where I think we missed a marker but so must have dozens of others riding over forestry slash, but it still wasn't that hard, some pretty clear arrows making the right way on lap 2

Lap 1 we fuck about a bit and stop a few times, lap 2 we do it in one hit, by the end of lap 2 my knee and should were starting to ache so buggered off and home by 2pm

Have to say I was less than keen on Amberley looking at the shit weather but the mates were keen so away we went, wipers wiping. Turned out to be a non-event apart from wet grass. We foccused on the enduros and did all 5 twice. The new enduros were a real step up and were great fun. I failed on the hill climb in enduro 2 but was not alone-bodies all over the hill. Some of the enduros were really long and apparently cut out some big parts of the main track. As Kickaha said, by the afternoon the track was getting cut up and reduced to dusty powder which still had considerable traction fortunately. Overall I thought it was a really worthwhile day and the most fun I have ever had at Amberley. Looked like a huge turnout-Grenvilles cash drawer was bulging!
