Had a mint ride with the IMOC boys over the mangamukas, both ways, to Pukenui for a pie. There was a mint 1983 MHR which I had the pleasure of following for a while at a brisk pace.

I had a 1985 MHR Mille, awesome bikes and still capable of getting along fairly quickly even if a bit agricultural

Every time i see one of those clear covers i am reminded what Phil Irving joked about how if you could see into a Vincent camshaft whilst the engine was running you would likely see sparks...

my 900s2 was barely faster than a gsxr 400

Yeah but that wasn't ever the point of owning a bike like that, not for me anyway

I've heard of Ducatis superior torque helping them stick to the road, but this photographic evidence is bordering on ridiculous.

Thats true but it ws annoying. Loved the feeling of the frame being able to take all the power of the 900,I remember going over the (conway river?) bridge at absolute full speed and it was rock solid at a big lean angle full throttle

Went for a big ride out with Ulysses club today. At one of our stops, this guy turned up in this car. It is aBSA v twin car motor and gearbox. Front wheel drive. It has twin Amal carb rotary valve heads and he has tuned it up from 17-75 HP! It sounded awesome! He has been doing some kind of rally in it as you can tell by the dirt and dust! It has an 8 leaf spring front end with single drum brake and twin drum brake on the back.

Yep, it had 4 half leaf springs per front wheel…I think it would look awesome all polished up tho…

Bsa or was it matchless rotary valve converted v twin there was a story on it eons ago in the cmrr years ago

I can't promise i can find the mag as i haven't seen it for 30 years
but it likely started as one of these, there was a rwd but i cant find a pic atm.
