    It's not the Temperate Kiwi.

I went to the snowed one 6x camp.
A day early to stay in turangi. They closed the road behind us and we were stuck up there till about midday.
Road vision was bugger all as you can't see through snow. Wipe your visor. Repeat. Repeat etc. Following in wheeltracks of a car that I was pleased was there. 2 up.

Fortunately the bach had a woodburner.
Don't you look at my accountant.

There is a saying to the effect that no adventure worthy of the name was comfortable at the time. Enjoy.

Weather looks to be perfect cold kiwi conditions, wind is the biggest issue and looks to be under control for the weekend in waiouru, there's a weather station 3 kms away ar the waiouru airprt thats pretty honest, it's going to be colder than a fritzl family reunion, and wet early hours saturday, the worst will be gone around breakfast, i'm sure we'll get snow, whether it settles or not is another thing.

numbers were down on last year, the weather forecast didn't help, and was accurate, the club closed pre paid entries before putting a message to people, prepaid tickets mean people will tend to go instead of worrying about the weather, and also their was a marked lack of publicity typical of organisations that think everyone is bending over backwards to go to their event, whereas they still need to sell it to people.
Great crowd and great weekend and great fun.

Was at lunch with local Ulysses members Sunday when some members returned from the rally. They were damp but not actually wet despite a heavy shower that had passed through.
