FFS - some people must WANT to die!

Working last night, we were transporting a patient to Waitakere Hospital from North Shore, and decided that going via Greenhithe was the quickest option.

(Apologies for the next bit, I get geographically challenged outside South Auckland)

Crawling along a narrow 2 lane bit with a flush median toward Westgate, we had a bike zap up the LEFT side of the ambulance (smallish, 250 machine I think, it was dark and raining, hard to tell...) who narrowly missed being taken out by cages randomly ducking left to avoid mutant cage pilots Shore bound who were swerving onto the flush median causing westbound to dive left like the crap drivers they are.

Just after I finished muttering bad things about him, another guy comes fanging down the flush median, again heading west. His headlight was as bright as a torch with flat batteries, and had NO tail light. Again, cages coming toward us were cutting across the median and this plonker almost got taken out time and time again, through both oncoming traffic, and by diving into the current flow westbound which was erratic in its speed.

I don't relish the thought of work appearing in front of me, and I especially hate having to scrape up idiots who are clearly asking for it.

So if you know anyone like these two mutants, please kindly smack them up the side of the head, and tell them it was for me and the other folks who are expected to give a stat dose of sympathy for an avoidable occurance which usually results in many tears and dollars being spent.

    Right, that's off me chest.

Carry on folks... carry on SAFELY!

I regularly see retards blasting up the breakdown lane on the motorway.
Just lately there have been a few cars broken down and parked up there.
Shudder to think about said retards coming around the bend on a frosty morning and seeing the car stopped in their path

Remember kids: A split up the middle is worth two in the side.
    Keep it rubber-side down...

Get them to come down here. I have a nice fishing spot they can go to with me...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Last night, at the Kilbirnie roundabout, Wtgn, I hear a high pitch noise from behind. Seconds later, this bike zooms past me, the rider in racing position huggin the tank, driving east towards the roundabout next to the runway. Closely behind comes an unmarked black holden police car with flashing lights followed by another black holden with flashing lights and with sirens making noice. The last thing I see of the bike is when it speeds away south towards the airport followed by the two cars.
It didn't look too good, high speed persuit while still lot of traffic in the dark. Hope no one got hurt.

Hard to tell, I was in the back of the vehicle, and it's a tad difficult to get your bearings when you are already half lost!

I was heading East from Hobsonville to North Shore last night BUT it wasn't me! Was in the Sport Cage trekking slowly home.

HOWEVER, one young KBer on a Red VTR1000 flew past my mirror at warp speed. I don't mind bikes passing slower traffic - I do it myself all the time BUT I don't do shit like that in THOSE conditions............. as DONOR would understand, it wasn't the nicest of evenings and the road was wet/traffic heavy. As for MR VTR, I know who he is and I'll give him a clip around the ear if he turns up on the ATNR......

I can understand that. Well, my tail-light is fine, so wasn't me.
if it was well before the bridge and even before greenhithe, i only ever pass that traffic when it has come to a stop. otherwise im generally behind the car in front.

From what I've been reading, there's no shortage of that sort of dickhead on this site. Why is it that those who have had an accident (predominantly 250 riders) feel the need to come on here and tell us all about it? Why don't they just STFU and feel stupid in silence like they should?
