World championships in custom bike building

I have the magazines covering these events. But I wanted to see if there was a good web page covering this too. And found it.

    Here:

    http://www.amdchampionship.com/conte...page=2006world

The HD from Japan that is 2006 winner is a bike I could watch for a six pac.

And the swedes one that came third is another favorite of mine.

    Enjoy

It's interesting to see just how many there are, surely once I get a welder and learn to weld properly I can make my own bike and enter something like this

In the 80's we used to have some serious competitions in NZ too. But it all seems to have died out.

I have some plans re how a WC winner should be made...

That bike looks like it has no petrol tank...or a very small one at that. Love the trick KTM motor....makes that bike look like a real old school dirt track racer.

    But...

As much as I love custom bikes. All of them are not the yehaas.

This one. The 2005 winner. This is something I would not be seen on.

Didn't see anything I liked. A couple were different but looked as though the majority were following some sort of unwritten trend. Baaaaaaa.

I am a custom bike builder. Well, sort of... And I agree with you.

What I want to do is build something that has not been done before. I have some ideas...

Such a lot of work, so many hours, such skills in fabrication, such piss poor engineering and frame design. Some of them really need to spend a few days reading Tony Foale's books...
