umm...not that i remember, there were a crapload of bikes out yesterday and quite a few today too, came back down route 50 then the main road to woodville, hung a left to pahiatua and treated the RF to a rip over the track before we got home, started raining 10 minutes after i parked her in the garage....nice timing

a few pics from yesterday at the patangata pub, where river rd meets elsthorpe rd - definitely worth shooting through there again, awesome riding. i turned north and went up through middle rd but it was just as inviting to head east to elsthorpe - must do that one day

other pics are from route 50 on the way back today, was a relatively quick run back, especially when an amusing chap had delusions about which was quicker, his ford or my suzuki....suffice it to say he is no longer confused....

Yes that road is one of our favorites. Heading to Elsthorpe from Patangata is really nice. Going from Elsthorpe to Havelock can be unforgiving so a word of cautuion. Few bumps, holes and loose gravel on some areas of the road at this time.
    Nice pics and great weather.

Due to the HB drought all the farmers were grazing along the side of the roads. It was the only place there was any grass.

nice pics. good to hear of trouble free riding.

Plan has been created for next weekend but ONLY IF THE WEATHER IS MINT.

Will be joining the ride but not in my usual fashion. Will be cruising along around the back quietly 2up. Bobbie doesnt like rain/shit weather so if it is at all doggy weather we will be taking the car.

We will hop off the ride in wellington as we are staying there the weekend.

Should be interesting and hoping for good weather.

seriously though. It might end up with a bit of competition on who is going to be the slowest. Talking to meanie today and he is cool to criuse along behind. I will not be doing ANYTHING over 140k. And you want to tail end. It will work itself out.

Depending on skill level of riders who are coming it will be great to have a couple taking turns at tail end .. cause I would love to have another go at the back roads from pahiatua again ..

have updated first post regarding ride .. yod will post another map ..

will wait & see may split the riders over saddle & gorge & met at the woodville garage ... can decide on the day ..

long term forcast is not looking bad at this stage . so fingers crossed ..

AFC have another one in there already, the third including mine, could be a popular bike in time
Yeah I reckon they could well be a popular machine, been watching The tour on TV, You can see heaps of 14's and FJR's being used as support bikes.
