Well it's well past 5:00pm so surely we have an answer.

Did he get done or did he get away with it?

I wonder what happened to draw the officers attention to the plate in the first place? Seen a few plates mounted like that, good luck to him defending it, I think he will lose!

Wouldn't a number plate mounted normally with a secrret switch (mounted next to the horn) to flip it up when your monoing past a cop before your runner be a nifty idea...

Your Dads a beast!! What does your mum say? That he should have run?

However, my guess is he'll still lose.
I back this guy - I would never ticket anybody for a plate in that position - unless they 'talked' me into it - but I WOULD suggest it be mounted to the right of the swing-arm.

The 'prescribed positions' are apparently published in the Gazette.

Fucked if I know what a Gazette is, but I imagine that examination of the relevant text would be conclusive, and will have occurred in court today.

The Gazzette means the legislation can be changed without going through parliament, used to be in order of council or something.
I think the positioning of the plate is intended to be obstructed, and that is why it is pushing the limits.

I'm not even going to bother voting but just say why on earth did he bother? Is his bike now 0.02km/hr faster than your Mum's or is it actually slower from being less aerodynamic with the damn thing stuck out the side like that. Or did he just want it to look like a race bike on the street by hiding it from general view?
    Cheers

I concur - hence my comment on moving it to the right-hand side.
