I think the cop should have just had a word and pointed that out and left it at that.....mind you not sure what the fine would be, presume no demerits so perhaps one to not worry about but good on him for trying and I still think he may win although no result posted yet so if it was win we would have heard by now.....shit I am rambling

Surely it is 'hang down'.......how can something hang upright??

To fasten from above with no support from below; suspend.

I'd be surprised if a judge considers that argument to be anything other than slippery bullshit.

'Upright' should most sensibly mean 'letters and numbers in the usual reading orientation'.

Now we need the case and the number so that we can quote it when we get stopped...

Then again I have a suspicion that there will be some wording changes to the law now...

But tell us more, what happened???

May the bridges I burn light the way.

On what exact grounds did he win? What can we all learn about the legals?

(...and [I ask no-one in particular] why do cars get away with tow-bars that permanently obscure half their plates?)

he won because the law states bla bla bla and his situation was found to be within these fathoms

no lawyer needed, just research, photos (the same photo i posted etc).
