Same with booze. To be honest, if you ever see me acting like a cunt when I'm drunk, it's because I'm using the drink as an excuse.

I think there's a core of sanity and control in all of us that should always remain untouched. If one ever feels that slipping, that's when it's time to set the recreational substances aside and regain focus.

I most definitely agree, and at a recent KB party (that you didn't attend, ahem..)everyone thought I was as sober as a judge, when I was actually quite trollied. I got a few years experience in the matter, you see.

BUT, when you have to look after a child, you have to be capable of anything without fault: driving, doing first aid, etc. So, as much as I will indulge in a bit of a smoke occasionally and a drink or two:
a- I don't have as much "tolerance" as I used to
b- It's always at the back of my mind that I need to be operational should something happen, therefor holding myself back.

I'm not complaining, it's who I've become with the years. Doesn't mean I won't have a great time and be the life of the party! That's a mentality, not a chcemical induced personality trait.

I plead to a sore thumb.

Also that I wanted to stay home alone and get baked that night

Absolutely agreed. I should be clear that at any time when I'm responsible for the care of my kids, I won't touch anything.

You just know you're going to have a good time when you go into a pub style premise and they hand you a menu where the list describes every chemicals known to man...and a few beers to guzzle it down with...

Do you frequent any of the Belgian Beer Cafes around Auckland (Blankenberge, De Fontein, De Post and the Occidental)?

I recommend the frites and mayo with a bucket of steamed mussels and a giant tub of Hoegaarden.

But it was a boring medical-type drug, so it wasn't very fun, and I had to give a blood sample every day for two weeks so they could test something or other.
How do you get to do stuff like that? I was expecting to be offered shit like this all the time as a student, but all they offer is like $20 and a cookie to sit in a room and press a buzzer while they flash lights at you.

I'm a good boy Pethidine while I was in hospital was absolutely marvellous. Truly superb.

Used to be the stoner from 'Nam! Not anymore, kids and money and stuff, just don't have a place for it in my life at the moment. Still at a party catching up with my close friends I've been known to have one for old times sake. Not much of a drinker, more wine or a nice beer with the right food these days. I have two drinking states, 1) from 1 to 3 drinks and I'm dozey and off to bed, can't handle any more. 2) once or twice a year at the most I can just go and go and am the entertainment for the night, flips off houses etc and I can drink tons and not feel it (till the next day or days after that!).
When I was younger had a few "E's". Felt a bit fake and was nice but wouldn't do it again.
Acid is my favourite, used to do it a bit back in the day, same again tho', no time now, would rather have a good sleep and an awesome play with my kids! Always liked it most out in the bush, on multi-day kayak missions when we'd be on deserted stoney beaches in the moonlight or on climbing trips etc, always with the right people too of course.
I'm selling my new riding gear!! Only worn a few times get a deal Kiwibikers!!

Mine was through Student Job Search. I guess maybe it's only in Otago, where Zentech, the testing company, is based.

I see no need to divulge what illegal drugs I may or may not have consumed on a public forum. I am by no means an innocent. I played in rock bands for 23 years.

Suffice to say that for a long time now I have taken no drugs other than insulin.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Haha, too much 'fiction for you!

I've only tried weed which was a waste of time IMO. I don't like having slower reactions/motor skills, it gets old fast.

I would like to try LSD at least once though...see what my mind can come up with.
