    Any Christchurch commute riders about?

Seriously, I know it's been cold and stuff, but where are you all hiding? I'm riding in from out past Rangiora every morning between 7:30 and 8:30, and there's only one other regular rider!

Incidentally, if you're the bloke who rides out to Rangiora/Kaiapoi along Hills Road - Marshlands Road each day, come rain or shine, on the white bike with red and blue detailing, good on ya.

That said, the warmer days are bringing people out of the woodwork, but it's sure been one lonely winter.

I hope your winter has been dryer than our summer here in the UK. Noah, hurry up with that bloody Ark, man!

Well i ride my bike every day no matter what the weather - even if we get snow.I dont usually see any bikes on the road at 5am when im off to worrk but see quite a few on the ride home at 2pm.The weather has been pretty mild this winter. So i dont know where all the softcock bikers are -they use there cages or work different hours, but as you say as the warmer days come about there will be more coming out of the woodwork.I used to come in from Waikuku daily on the bike - as it was cheaper and quicker than by cage.

I've been on the road on my bike every day but one this winter. (Monday this past week when it absolutely hosed down and was supposed to all day)

Where are you guys riding to/from out of curiosity? I work down from Durham St, and when I was walking along it to pick up my wife's car from the mechanic the other day, I saw about eight bikes travelling along Durham towards Brougham, so it may be I'm coming the wrong way.

It'd certainly help the ol' congestion if more people in Goon rode in.

I ride from Casebrook across town to Opawa Road/Garlands road where the big stacks spew steam out in to the air, I have a 15km ride each way.I try to keep off the main roads as to congested - the back roads give me less lights to stop at and give me a quicker ride time.

Tell me about it i come in evry day from out here 1100km a week does get boring some times same road same dickheads in cars (only 2 last month) but when get you past the - thoughts the ride becomes pure joy and its good to see others out there not affraid of the /wet/snow

I'm waiting for parts for my laid up bike. As soon as they arrive it'll be a day off work swinging on a socket set, then what comes after that doesnt take much imagination.

What gatherings? Most of the events held in CHCH never match up with my time off so dont get to go.Cant even get away for the Rallies.Apart from a ride this afternoon my next decent ride will be to the Greymouth street racing.
