    I think you'll find the front tyre does plenty when cornering. The fact that it can come off the ground is that, when under power the force imparted on the rear tyre changes from being just an outward force and becomes a downward force as well, thereby compensating for the lack of grip at the front.

    (I'm happy to be proven wrong by any physics majors).

    I wonder if that's got anything to do with the fact that the most popular profession amongst bikers is, indeed, engineers. Or whether GSXR's are the most popular bike amongst engineers

    Yes...only exception is where it wont rev that much, but if you accurately extrapolated it itd still cross there.

    Its because HP = Torque x Revs / 5252

    So where Revs = 5252 then the formula becomes HP = Torque x 1
