One week & dropped it

    Booooo bloody hiss

Had my new toy for a week today exactly & dropped it already & I cant even blame my dodgy hip

Was at a mates place who has a steep drive way (not silly steep but on a lil up hill)...anyway, first time to his place on my new bike and once at the top he suggested I park on the street as there wasn't enough room, so I rolled back & turned left hand down & then proceeded to push myself forward to max amount then switch direction and push myself back again, 3 point turn type thing, looked like I was gunna make the last turn but just as I got to the end of it it looked like I wasn't going to make it (either side of the drive way is a concrete fence). I stopped & tried to push back again but before I knew it over I went, bike in all lol. I did that crap ass roll over, feet over ya head deal.....must have looked funny for the neighbours

Ok, im over it now, feel much better after spilling the beans

Starving kids in the Sudan & im moaning about my scratched bike............which I did all by myself..........*snap out of it Boob*

Ok so damage control....pic below of said damge. Now question is.......ive got some turtlewax with the "chip stick" which is like a stick of lipstick, apparently you fill in the chips with it and wax over top. Is it better to do the quick fix? Or take it to a pro to sort it good n proper?

Its best to do the fix the day before you sell it, if you do it now, you are just asking for more!

The paint job was like new when I picked it up & it looks like that's exactly what the previous owner did

Nah, its all good mate. You gotta have a couple of chips and scratches so the bike doesn't feel so new.

Look on the bright side - you dropped it and it didn't cause you grief.

I've dropped mine three times now in the same way.

    1) Pulling up in front of MotoMart in Lower Hutt. Frosty decides to do a stoppie in front of me in a borrowed VFR750 - I yank the stoppers on, go to put the foot down - find nothing but air. Cost me a mirror. Humorous point - Sparky Bills comes running out of the store with his notebook and pencil tallying up the damage. Nice one Martin...

    2) I'm adjusting the foot brake. Youngest son decides he's going to get on the bike - and overbalances it, toppling it (and him) on top of me. Ouch. Only damage is bruises to leg and ego.

    3) Backing out of the gargre. Foot slips in the rain and I overbalance. Bike sloooooooooooowly tips over and I gently lay it on the ground. No damage except to ego again.

    You're not the only one...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I think its his subtle way of saying the RF's a heavy bastard. Everybody who owns one drops one on its side it would appear.

How it goes is more important than how it looks.

    Leave the scratches for character.

If you paint it now, you'll only drop it again. The bugger Murphy has a lot to answer for. Just ignore it and get on with life.
