Actually, I quite like the Svord knives. The steel's terrible for tarnishing quickly when exposed to salt or acid, but they take an edge well, and look charmingly rustic. Plus it's always nice to have a knife made by someone relatively local.

    I have a Svord Peasant:

and I plan on picking up the '6.5" Bowie' shortly:

I won't own a Von Tempsky. It's basically a machete; it just doesn't 'grab' me. I only own knives that I like. It's hard to define what does it for me, but I know it when I see it...

    What's a biker doing on the loser-cruiser?

Personally, that kind of money for a knife that doesn't say "sheffield" somewhere on the blade doesn't compute.....

    It sure is.

To be honest, tanto points don't do a lot for me, but the somewhat similarly-featured (and smaller) Spyderco Kumo is another one on my 'to get' list.

The plain vanilla Ken Onion Kershaw blades don't hold a great edge. My Spyderco Delicia was much better (until I lost it). They ae a neat knife tho.
I used to make a lot of knives. The forgin is ok, but I don't have the patience for the polishing these days.
