Orange doesn't do it for me sorry,

    edit again:
when I rode the 636 at colemans, it had a 'wall' when going around corners, Like, I'm turning and then I have to really push it or slow down to take the corner, is this a 636 thing or was the front tire just trashed, I couldnt see anything on the tire.
I only posted this because of the global economic crisis

Your not used to that size tyres id say. I felt the same way when I got into bigger bikes. You'l get used to it, and be surprised how stable they all are.

Poor tyre pressures or different tyre sizes. Happens when you jump on a bigger bike for the 1st time.

I run 36psi front, 38 rear. You are more or less my weight, so try those pressures for size.

Also you can't beg and plead with the 636 (or any big sports bike) to take corners - just give it an assertive, confident push as you countersteer and you will find the bike does exactly what you want.

how come you never tried this technique? would have saved you running of the track, nearly running into me and going wide on the roads

I ran wide on the track cos I realised at the last moment I had no brakes and basically f'ked my lines up as I couldn't get the bike to do what I wanted. When I changed my pads later in the day things were much better.

I don't feel as comfortable on the road as the track and my riding there needs a lot of improvement. Well actually it just generally needs a lot of improvement, period.

yeah, I'm not selling mine! never will.. I either write it off or it gets burried with me, don't worry..

You'll find that any bike bigger (physically, not just cc) than your CBR will be a lot different, if you haven't figured that bit out yourself (which I'm pretty sure you have!), so it'll be a case of adapting your riding technique and style to the new wheels. It'll also vary between bikes, not just models of bikes. I remember thinking the same thing about my bike, going into corners, but you soon realise that the CBR is quite a forgiving bike, which makes it so fun to ride. Bigger bikes have to be man-handled a bit more, I found this more so with the 636, which i kind of love about it. So I adapted the way I rode, and got round the problem that way. Fitted better tyres to it, got my confidence up etc, then Shaun did his magic on it, and turned it into a rollercoaster. Now it's been set up for me, it handles like it's on rails. That's what you want. So any bike will do this, it's just a case of setting it up for you.

As for the whole comfort ride, I've taken a few people on the back, the two furthest would have to be Kelly from Auckland down to Manfield one Friday night (was a killer, I admit) and back, but we got it done. The second was me down to Rotovagas to get HDTboy (Gav) and on to Welly, then back again. Again, another killer, but they're long day trips (done at evening/night quickly). I'm happy to cruise the coro gp on this and further, and having people on the back isn't a bad thing really. It'll be hard for the first few weeks for what ever bike you get tho, cos it's changing your riding position and style to suit the new wheels, so you'll be using muscles differently than before. But, you'll harden up and get used to it, then it's just a case of building on your talents with the right people around you until you get super quick like JSG or better.. or not, as the case may be

heard that before. Just feel sorry for the rider when they hit the brakes hard. That's something else the 636 is good for - bustin balls

The new ones do look nice, but would take some getting used to those tiny ass headlights.
