Newbie to KB.. but with a bit of a problem...

    Hey all KB ppl,

Today as i was on my way back from my girlfriends house i had to stop at a police checkpoint on my way through the domain, i thought sweet 'just a WOF and Rego check'....... however, the nice lady cop asked for my license as well. This was all good until i realized i wasn't wearing my glasses (which i only need for sitting at the back of lectures at uni) and it is a condition on my license that i wear them cos i didnt wanna have to get my eyes tested to get out of it. so she slapped a $400 fine on me. I went to get an eye test today (same day i got the infringement notice) at the local optometrist to get out of having that condition on my license and i passed it (not really a surprise to me). Now what i wouldnt mind some advice on is if u guys reckon i could get out of the fine since i dont really need glasses to ride/drive?

    ANY ADVICE MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Too late. At the time it was a condition of licence.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Disagree.

Say it was based on your prescription at the time, produce your current "my eyes are fine" certificate, along with a new copy/copy of the relevant docs to change it to a non lenses required license ...... to the police in a well written simple logical letter and your chances of getting off are rather high.

Try bullshit a bullshiter and you will come off second best......... as we know all cops are bullshitters...... pt

Mrs Random once got ticketed for driving at night with no headlights (just parking lights/sidelamps - she'd failed to switch them on properly).

I wrote in and pointed out that it was a clear night, the road regs define sidelamps as being visible from 250m away, and the street was so well lit that she didn't even notice that her headlights weren't on, so it wasn't a safety issue.

    They let her off.

Being ticketed for no glasses and then getting an eye test later that day which proved that you didn't really need them seems to fall in a similar ballpark. I'd definitely write the letter.

Did you not try and tell them you had your contacts in

Its worth a try to write a letter with all the documentation saying that you dont actually need them, I wouldnt go holding my breath on the chance of getting off though, weather you need them or not the Licence said you should have been wearing them.

Welcome to KB by the way, keep your hands to yourself and face the frount of the class at all times, that way you wont see it comming.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

As he says write that letter & your off for sure, no doubt
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Wait, What?? The eye test AT the driver licencing place?? The one that takes two extra minutes to take after they've already had you there for 30 minutes waiting in line??

    Why would't you take it?

Get a gun and go shoot the cop.

Alternatively, give it a shot by writing a polite letter explaining all the circumstances. If you don't need glasses to drive why was it a condition of the license? I need them for reading but I'm fine on the road and I don't have a condition set on my license.

Somethings not right here. You need glasses to see the front properly for lectures but an optician now reckons you dont. So which is it ? Can you now miraculously see fine now at the lectures without your glasses or not ? If you still need them for lectures your short sighted and need them when riding, vanity wont help you if you crash.
