What a great ride to get back into the saddle with ... and I didn't fall off once! Did stop and have a look at Grub's Corner and decided you'd have to be a real Wally to fall off there.

I'm surprised about the wet gloves Rocket coz mine are dry. That bit of rain when we started and then fine and dry for the rest of the day was pretty damn good.

It' a long time since I've been out the back there over the twin towers - what a great piece of road. Looks like we did 223km for the day with good roads and good people.

Ahh but then there is The Hill. Some prat in a Nissan 4WD has dropped the entire contents of either his sump or diesel tank in the middle of the road from the summit almost to the garden cafe at Kaitoke. He'd pulled off into the layby just before the last corner - the oil track followed him.

Hey! Good on ya, Pete. Congrats on the new machine. Welcome to four pot land. 'Twas indeed a great day for it - eventually. Looking forward to copping my eyes on it. Is it a brand spanker?

Thanks Richard. No it's not a spanker but as good as,it's a fresh import with barely 20k up on the clock.I've never seen a tidier example and the dealer offered a very reasonable trade for the old XJ750.It's so different to the VTR, more refined power delivery and a whole lot more technology,I think I prefer the VTR for "hooning the hill" but the VFR will suit "her in doors" much better for touring.

Thanks John for leading the trip considering the zero turnout to the original organised trip.
We had a great day out with great company, look forward to the next one.

you should be fine Kazza, ive been on my 250 many times and the ride is fine - just let the ride leader know youre new and theyll make sure youre not left behind. Its a nice cruisy ride at your own pace everytime, some go off fast at the front and the rest pootle along at there own speed and meet up along the way at scheduled stops.
