    Bandit 250

    Hey there,
I am looking into a Bandit 250 1992. The bike looks in great condition.... What I am interested in knowing is how the bike handles... I am moving away from cruisers into the sports and am just curious as to whether the bandits are any more difficult or even different to control then the cruisers?

    Thanks

Difficult to control no... different to control yes... every bike is different.. depends how its been set up, suspenion, handle bars, controls on the bars, set height, foot pegs, CoG, weight... (the list goes on)

Take it for a test ride see how different it is. The first thing you will notice is the riding position... most likely a highly CoG which makes it easier to flick it into corners... you may like this or you might not.

    Peace

    Hello.
As you will see i ride a bandit 250.
Here's my opinion regarding this type of bike, they're an awesome little jap bike, handle well and have great accerlation and top speed on a good day out.
And just to top it off it's comfortable ride....especially for a little short ass like me,lol.
But it's all based on personal preference..... ulitimately you should take it for a test run to decide if you like it or not.
    Good luck with the switch.

Yep what he said,I test rode heaps of bikes, including a Virago and found the bandit to be a good compromise between comfort and speed.
They are a revvy bitch and you have to work through the box to keep it moving.
All in all though soo much more fun than the Virago.

I find my bandit very predictable, and because of the highish bars it's very easy to throw around. As the others have mentioned it's also a good compromise on comfort, have done a lengthy tour of the south island no sweat

Seating position is comfortable no back pain when I rode a 400 and 1200. Great bikes and handles well. Just test ride a few to find out if you like it.

The first thing I noticed when I jumped on my partners bandit was how easy it is to tip into a corner. You just have to think about taking a corner and you're round it. They're fun little bikes

Interesting you say that. I haven't ridden a Bandit but have ridden the VTR250 and Hornet and compared to my ZXR they both tip in easier. I guess it's the wider grip on the handlebars giving you more leverage to counter-steer. Comes in handy as they need more input on the controls to keep the bike lent over when cornering at speed. I imagine the Bandit would be the same.

I love my Bandit - the only downside I can find with it is that it doesn't seem to be as fuel efficient as other bikes.

Nonetheless, it is still cheaper and a damn sight more fun to ride than a car.
