Oh well, at least he's off the road for a little while ...

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

One wonders why the Judiciary thought that fining him (previously) would 'teach him to mend his ways'.
39 convictions for driving while disq...WTF.
And no driving offences for the past 8 years? He was inside???
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

What a f*cking joke the Criminal Justice System is here in NZ.

39 charges of driving while disqualified and they give him another ban. DUH !!

$17,000 in fines !! Send in the baliffs, they would for you and I.

Home detention so he can go out and drive some more. F*ck that let him do time.

Criminal Justice is exactly that, Criminal justice and screw the rest of us.

I thought the whole thing with Home Detention is no leaving the house.

That's got to keep him off the roads for a little while.

And the whole thing about being banned from driving is that you dont drive.

It's a little bit different with the bracelet on your ankle though...

shit... well... there you go... if you have HEAPS of fines (10k+) just do some other crime, get home dentention for a bit n the fines are all gone *poof*... just like that!! Work from home to earn $$, you'll come out with no outstanding fines, would save heaps on travel to & from work, save $$ on socialising etc... but the best part is if you dont feel like working, you can always kick back n play playstation or get your mates to come round with a box of beers & a bag of weed n just hang out, order a pizza maybe... must be a real bitch to have to do SOO much hard work to pay off those fines!...

I had a dude in my place on Home D.

It was beer and skittles all the way for him. We had M/C's around on a regular basis (they were ok though, just freaked the neighbours out a bit), his kids were not the most pleasant of creatures, nor was his ex. There were late night visits, whores and all. When we went away one weekend all my lady's hair and face products appeared to evaporate, indicating more than one woman took a shower and helped themselves to whatever.

Anyway, lots of little things went down and we got tired of the antics, the last straw being; I had cleaned the oven one time and when I went to put a roast in it a wee while later heaps of acrid smoke came out. He'd been home-baking something in OUR bloody oven. I cleaned it again and after his bracelet was off he was soon gone from our home, then we discovered some of our shit (CD's, jumperleads, tow rope and shit) was also gone.

You try to do someone a favour and look what happens! After about 8 weeks in the real world he was back in the can.

So, after having had first hand experience with Home D I'd have to say that it's a cockup. It might suit the lesser crims, dunno, but if you ask me the government is just trying offload some inmates onto the public coz they don't want to fund what are loosely termed 'prisons'. Crims get a pretty easy ride in the can, so why bother going straight?

I must admit, to begin with the guy who stayed at my place was quite helpful. He did some waterblasting and scraping so I could paint the house, he even mowed the lawn a couple of times but man, in the kitchen he was a freakin' disaster.

Institutionalised I reckon. Had too much done for him on the inside. His room was tidy to start with too, just like a cell would be I guess, but it didn't last.

I need my teeth fixed and some new specs, what could I do to get a wee stint in the govt-sponsored Club Med? (Drums fingers on table, thinks of last speeding ticket...)
