Good to see some KBers turn up and sign the card, had a good natter about the crazy things that those in the services have to deal with!

Thanks for the hot chocolate and giving some extra details about his condition! Wishing him the best for a speedy and good recovery.

    Ride safely out there people!

Yep yep, was good to meet Bykey Cop and the rest of the crew.

Nick sounds a real character, look forward to meeting him when this is all history and sharing a bevvy and some yarns.

So is Bykey Cop able to update us on how many sigs were collected and what printouts he was able to deliver? It's kind of empowering to know how much people do really care. It's hard to get that image of the bike's ripped out rear wheel, drive shaft and swing arm and not feel some pain for Nick.

My best mate left a bunch of skin on the road from a Yamaha XS2 cop bike slide down SH1 ... as he describes it 254ft 7inches of it.

Hi... I got half a dozen sigs from people at the Autobahn, have still got a few names to add from here plus got about 15 from work. That doesn't include the thread stuff which I will print out tonight.

Will deliver it tomorrow or Wednesday. Nick is hopefully going to be slowly taken out of his medically induced coma in a day or two so fingers crossed all goes well for that.

get well card at the rotorua police station

    Hi all,
I have placed a get well card at the Rotorua Police station watch house. If you wish to sign the card then please make your way in. Go to the front counter and you will see the card hanging from the wall behind the counter.

I have e-mailed all the station staff so they should know what it is all about. Just tell them why you are there and all should run smoothly. I will be on leave so wont be there.

I will leave the card there for 1 week and will forward it on to Nick next week.

Hey Bykey Cop, good catching up with you and your colleague today.

Glad to hear things are slightly improved, though gutted to hear about the other developments.

Let me know when he's a bit more awake, wouldn't mind popping my beak in and saying howdy.

Went to see Nick today. He is conscious although pretty much drugged up on morphine. He still has a tracheotemy and tube down his throat to assist breathing.

The developments Donor is talking about is the chest infection he has picked up while in ICU so on top of all his injuries he has that to fight off as well.

I would like to say he is out of the woods but it is not the case just yet - he is still very sick. However, when I read out some of the messages in the card and he saw a picture of his mates in the UK that I had put in the card, a tear came out of the corner of his eye. From that response and a few responses to blink on request from the nurses for different things, I am hopeful that his brain has survived any major damage.

The printout of this thread was also slipped inside the card so thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. It will be a long road.

    BC.
